Hi ladies
I was wondering how long does it take for your cycles to return after birth? I am not ready to TTC 'seriously' yet but as I am not on the pill I have a niggling concern at the back of my mind when we DTD that maybe we should be taking precautions.

Anyway hope you are all doing okay - I am really pleased to hear the bleeding has stopped Clare - must be a relief.

I have a very busy week next week - GP on Monday, interview for new job on Wednesday (to cover maternity for a friend who is due the same time I would have been) and hospital on Friday. I can see next weekend I will need a stiff drink or two.

Sorry sweetie, I must have just missed your post. Every woman is totally different but it took me 6 weeks to the day to get AF back. Some women can take months which is frustrating.

Spring - Doing ok thanks! It's amazing how much more positive I have been feeling since we made the decision to start ttc, before when we were just talking about it, it felt so far away, but now, hopefully if all goes to plan, I will have that little bub by chrissy. Well my mum has gone away for a few days (which I told her she couldn't!!!) She only left today but I miss her so much already. She comes over every day and we do something together. She will be back on Tuesday which is good as you all know how I am on Tuesdays :cry:

I was looking at my calendar today and on Sunday it is Chinese New Year - year of the golden pig. I know I am probably getting just getting carried away but I do believe in what the chinese say and if they say that 2007 is the best year for having children, then I believe them. The chinese lunar chart said that I was having a boy and well.........I had Cooper so I believe them. Whatever gets me through the day hey!

Deb - All I can say is it is so nice to have you back, you know so much about all of this and I am so impressed and I learn so much (relevant to me or not I still learn). I remember reading a thread of yours ages ago about all the different conditions associated with losses, then when the OB told me I have anticardiolipin antibodies I remembered the thread and immediately thought OMG I read about that, but never imagined I would have had any of them. What would we do without you?

Spring - WHO WAS IT??????? I am here :D

Tess - Spring is right, it varies with everyone but I was also like her and pretty much spot on 6 weeks. I have been told by my old OB that its normally between 6-10 weeks, but on the other hand he was dodgy and going to let me go into my next pregnancy without testing for anything so lets just ignore him!

Clare - So glad that everything seems ok. Hope your "removalist" didnt break anything on the job, lol

Lynn - Best of luck with Oing over the weekend, I am due to O on Sunday so it would be so cool if we both got BFPs :pray:

Well got an appointment at OB tomorrow so I am gonna talk to him about why I am not getting pregnant, I really hope he can tell me something other than "be patient". I know 5 months doesnt seem that long but it feels like a lifetime and each month my desperation grows stronger, and my mental state weaker. Anyway will pop in tomorrow night and let you know how I go - Call me weird but I am really looking forward to seeing him, plus it will be the first time I discuss in person the blood problems and the treatment.

What is the chinese lunar chart? I havent heard of it, how do you check it out? Is it only relevant if you are already pregnant? Ahh so many questions, lol. But hey, if the Chinese say 2007 is the best year to have a baby I am all for it :crossfingers:

I think we all deserve one. YOu know we have time for ALL of us to get that wish. My first child was born in the Year of the Pig. So, I think it's a pretty good year. I could have my first and my last live children in a year of the PIG!!!! Yessssss!!!!!!!

Good luck with the ob tomorrow Mel - I will be thinking of you :hug: I hope you get all the answers that you are after. I know exactly what it is like, waiting month after month..........and nothing. The earlier you find out what is going on the better. This time around for me I know it is only my 2nd cycle but if nothing happens this cycle I am going to get some tests done so I know if it is just me and DH not getting it right or if I need further help than clomid. Not saying that you have anything wrong but I think it is best to find out sooner rather than later and for the sake of your mental heath. For me, I just don't see the point in trying for months and then eventually finding out that something else could have helped me and I could have falled pg sooner. Good luck tomorrow and let me know how you go.

The chinese lunar chart shows you the best months to conceive if you want a boy or a girl depending on your age. I didn't see it until I was pregnant. I will email it to you. I guess I believe in it because it was right for me. Let me know if it is right for you.

That would be great to email it if you don't mind, I will have look and compare from when I got pregnant with Nicholas and also for if and when I get pregnant this time. I will definitely let you know how I go at OB, I am sure it will all be good - and I think you are right, I want to find out if their are probs now rather than go through this heartache month after month and then find out something is wrong. Since I quit my job nearly everyone has said they bet I fall pregnant soon without all the stress, I dunno only time will tell.

I totally agree about the stressfree environment. I fell pg with Cooper after I had quit work hence the reason for not going back now. I really do hope that this is your month. You are o'ing on Chinese New Year so you have to get it!!!! :crossfingers: I've emailed through the chart - good luck!

Mel - Just wanted to say Good luck at the OB tommorrow, I really hope you can get some answers. Also, just on the stress free environment, with both of my pregnancies, I fell pregnant while on holidays, when I was relaxed, so I really think it is true. I have always thought that I got UTD because I wasn't worried about stuff and was just relaxing and enjoying myself. I think with everything that you have been through in the last few months, your body and soul need this time out from the stress at work, and I bet you you will get that BFP very soon.

Hello ladies, sorry to join the group and then disappear, had another disappointing month so hav been licking my wounds and then away for work. Twice now my period has started at day 26 which is totally throwing me out - does anyone find that the ovulation test kits work well or should I try the temperature thing? Decided we had better try earlier in the month - but now DH is going to be away this month and it feels like such a waste of month - each one is ticking closer to 40 and those horrid statistics about TTC when you're older...

Hope those of you waiting on a result this month have more luck! As always I'm now behind the game in catching up on everyone elses news and getting to know you guys better, but Mel I hope tomorrow goes well and Lynn thanks for asking after me.. will be on more often now...

Deb - I reckon the pig is saying something ;) I think you are onto something. I hope you get your last bubba in the year of the pig.

Mish - glad to see that you are back. Sorry you have had a hard month. OPK tell you when you are going to O and your temps tell you when you have O'd. I like to use both of them but then I am a test junky :) Good luck this month.

I understand about the big looming 40. Try really hard to let go of that fear. (I am 40 in August so I HEAR you sister!) Many many women have beautiful healthy babies at this age. Much is reliant on your health. Ensure you take good doses of folate, b12 and b6. All known to effect DNA in a positive way.

well a little down as the blood test came back a big fat neg! but I sort of thought that.... I know my body then I think I do, anyway i can now work on getting fit and THIN!!!! well get rid of the spare tyre anyway, Of course would have loved to be getting fatter but I am trying to stay positive about the whole thing so ........Im heading out for dinner tonight and have stayed very busy all day, I hope when AF arrives I wont go to mad and they commit me! (It will be delayed as I have been using prog. which now means an extened delay) Anyway I will post later on.

Mish: It is nice to see you back babe, I hope you are feeling better. I know about how hard it is having DH away when you are TTC, my DH's work means that he is always away and it just gets so frustrating. I hope that all the heavens aline and that you O will DH is home.

Mel: How was the ob today honey, I hope you got some answer. I'll check later if I can and see how it went.

Lynn: I think that things like Chinese medicine should be given more credit. It has been around for many moons more than conventional medicine. I also think that their differnt lunar cycles are worth at least understanding. Anything that helps hey. I have a really close quite spiritual friend who told me that the number 7 is very significant. We got discussing the fact that Harrison was born 7 years to the day that DH and I went on our first date. I'd like to believe that the same applies for 2007.

Bailey: I am so glad that you are feeling better. I just finished cooking the brownies for Sunday so I am going to let them cool and ice them. Yummo.

Flowerchild: Your chooks sound very spoilt. We always had chooks as kids in Townsville. It was so exciting going into the pen in the morning and collecting the eggs with bits of poo and feathers stuck to them when they were still warm. I can remember my sisters and I would search through the straw, it was so much fun. I know your kids will love them and organic, free range eggs are just the best.

Hi everybody,

Well everything went well at OB. He said he got some more results back since we spoke and my level of ACL antibodies is only 10 (apparently <5 is considered negative) so I only need to take a low dose of aspirin during next pg (no injectrions, YAY - DH is wrapped cause he was gonna have to give them). He confirmed that the hysterogram was normal and everything looks perfect. We spoke about not getting pregnant and he said dont worry too much cause its quite common to take 6 or more cycles ater having a bub, but he did give me some tests to have done all the same. He wants me to have bloods on CD22 this month to make sure I am ovulating. He said just cause OPKs show positive isnt 100% proof that you are ovulating, although it is a good indication it is best to check (he said rarely but sometimes you can have surge without O). He gave me a referral to an infertility specialist, Lyndon Hale, who is really booked up so I cant get an appointment until 15 May so he said book it now and cancel is pg before then. He gave DH a form to have his swimmers checked, he was mortified LOL. He said but ive fathered 4 kids and OB said its probably not him but we need to make sure. He is hoping we succeed this month so he doesnt have to do it, but hey after everything ive been through, doing ykw in a jar is nothing! He also gave me a form to have a Levovist done which is to check there are no blockages in the fallopian tubes, they are booked up until April so I booked it and will cancel if pg before. He agrees that while everything is probably fine it is best to make sure now rather than let it go another 6 months and find there is a problem that could have been fixed earlier. I left his office feeling so good, its so nice to have someone take me seriously and I love his attitude of why wait for problems lets make sure there are none now. He gives me so much confidence that my next bub will be ok that it makes me in a way a bit excited, but also just more desperate to conceive. I am so grateful I changed OB!!!!!!

Also went to agency yesterday and got almost 100% on all of my tests and the girl said my data entry score was the quickest she has seen for a long time, she said average good result would be 5000 keystrokes for that test and I did 11500 (pats on the back for Mel LOL), so she said she thinks she can definitely keep me in full time work and because I have radiology audiotyping background I am in the highest grade of pay for a temp... WOOHOO! I finally feel like everything is going to start getting better, I just hope the feeling lasts.

Spring - My post was meant to be "I am DYING here" and it was referring to your flowers. I hope you have a great weekend with DH, I assume you will be very "busy" LOL

Lynn - I am sure you will O soon, I so hope it happens for you this weekend :hug: As I said to you in email, according to the lunar chart I will having a girl if I conceive before November (GOD I WOULD HOPE SO!!!!) which is cool, a girl would be nice as she could be a little friend for my niece who is totally surrounded by boys - plus I already have my special boy. Not that I care, as long as it screams at me on arrival I would be over the moon.

Nat - I am so sorry about your negative, you sound like you are being really strong and I think that is very admirable. Hope you enjoyed your dinner and it took your mind off things :hugs:

Bailey - I really hope you are right, I already feel so much more relaxed having handed in my resignation and also after seeing OB so fingers crossed this month is my lucky month.

Mish - I dont know about temps cause I have never tried, but OPKs always confused the crap out of me at first but I eventually figured them out with the help of Deb. Hope your cycle works itself out for you.

I hope your ttc journey ends before that May appointment - it does take time for your hormones an rythums to get back to their good old selves. I understand how frustrating it is. Mel: That is wonderful news about the ob. I am so glad that you feel like you have a plan of attack. I hope that you are UTD before you have the next series of test but at least you won't waste months worrying that something else is wrong. I think what the ob has suggested sounds like he understands how frustrated you are. Also it is great that you only need a low dose of asprin, self injecting wouldn't be fun but I know that you would do what ever it took to have a healthy bub. The flowers were from my friend Kirsty. The card said, 'just because, from a friend who loves you'. They are very beautiful and it was a nice thing to do, I felt very special.

Lynn: Oh boy oh boy I hope that you get that magical O very soon. You deserve a break. I will send you all the O vibes I can and hope that that eggie behaves herself very soon.

I am pretty sure I am meant to O tommorrow or Monday, but to be honest, I can't work it all out, so I am just going to have to BD everyday for the rest of the month. Poor DP!!

Mel - Good to hear that your OB appointment went well. I bet you get that BFP really soon now that you have eliminated some of your worries and you have a new outlook. And hey, you can get cheapo flights these days, so maybe we can plan a nationwide get together in a few months.

Thanks for checking on my ovaries Deb, I wish I could check up on them and ask them what the hell are you doing???????????????? Still nothing today, just a stupid single line on the OPK. A weird thing happened with my temp this morning. It is normally around the 36.31-36.39 but today it was 36.14 - does this mean anything? Probably not, I think I am just searching for any signs that it is on its way.

Mel - I am so happy that everything went well with your ob. It must be nice to finally be getting somewhere and it must make you happy that you changed obs. I totally agree with finding out now if there is something wrong rather than wait 6 more months. If only someone gave me this advice years ago!!!! But I'm sure that you have nothing to worry about and everything is just fine. That is excellent about your test at the agency. We all knew you would go well on your typing speed!!! lol

I am so with you on the "screams on arrival". I don't care if my bubba screams the house down!!! I think we are all like that, we don't care what sex it is as long as it is crying and pooing we will be happy.

Forgot to tell you yesterday on the phone................I am going to acupuncture next week with my MIL. She goes for her asthma so I said I would go with her and give it a go. I'm trying everything now - I even have a huge rose quartz heart-shape stone next to my bed. I heard that this is supposed to help too.

Bailey - I know what you mean about poor DP. My DH keeps saying when is the day. If only I knew!!!!

Spring - hope you are enjoying your time with DH. I know it will be hard when he leaves tomorrow. That is so nice that your friend sent flowers and a card. I got a card from my friend this week with a beautiful poem. It just means so much to read the things that she wrote and I know that she hasn't forgotten about me or Cooper, sometimes I guess I just to hear that.

I wish that we all lived in the same city and we all could be getting together tomorrow.

Well I have had a busy couple of days with friends visiting and seeing Cooper's garden. It means so much to me that they want to see it and now that people know that I want to talk about him, they are starting to talk about him which is just so nice.

My MIL said a beautiful thing to me today. She said that she feels like she knows Cooper more and more every day because she talks about him to her husband and to me and to anyone that will listen. She said that every day she misses him more and more. I thought that was so sweet. She also said that she looks at babies when she is out and sometimes wants to ask the mother how old the baby is because she wonders how big Cooper would be now. That made me so upset because it just made me realise that not only do I not get to watch my son grow, she doesn't get to watch her grandson grow. It made me realise that sometimes I don't really appreciate how my family is feeling. I forget that it is hard on them too - they lost their first grandchild.

What cd are you today? I think tomorrow is your obs appointment? I am sure he/she will do an u/s and have a look at what follicular activity there is. Be sure to let us know.

Rose Quartz is said to enhance fertility but is most effective combined with Moonstone. (a friend in the 'know' told me this!) So, this woman has a rosequartz ring that Liberace would be proud to call his own AND a set of moonstone earings! Nah I am not at all superstitious!!!!!!!!!! I do believe that crystals have energy and I believe that ritual and belief is important.

Leads me to..... Chinese New Year. Now tell me is it so that it is especially good for fertility???? My husband does lots of work with Asia and it is an UNLUCKY year to get married in but they say lucky for everything else. He didn't have too much to enlighten me on. I was just hoping that fertility was one of the strong points of the Pig year!!!! I am a GOAT and it's supposed to be a SPLENDID year for me!!!! I am viualising a Golden Pig year Baby for us all!

Lynn - I found my temp always drops to around 36.1 / 35.9 just prior to 'o' sometimes it can happen 2 or 3 days before o day, but keep going with the OPK's I am sure you will see that 2nd line soon. Are you using FF or just recording at home? If you use FF can you post a link to your chart, so we can have a peek?

Morning ladies - hope you are all well.

It is so hard to keep up with you all - so sorry I do not do personals very often.

Just wanted to let you all know that I had my 6wk post-natal checkup today. The doctor said my body has returned to its pre-pregnant state which is good, but as I have been feeling sick recently and have a tender stomach she has sent me for blood tests and an ultrasound tomorrow morning. I am hoping that it is all okay - feels pretty scary I thought all this was over and I could get back to TTC.

I hate my body and I hate the position that I am in at the moment. What did I ever do to deserve all of this, what did I do wrong. I waited so long to get Cooper and then he was taken from me. If no appt with obs I would phone and DEMAND a follie scan. You need to know what those ovaries are planning for you.
It could still be gonna happen. I got a positive on cd21 of my first cycle on clomid. I hve required my doseage to be increased so this may be an option for you too (increase wasnt due to late ovulation but rather due to lower prog. levels than we would like.)

Hey Lynn - I am sorry that you are going through this. I am sure that your body is still just getting back to normal and might take a couple of cycles to settle down. Can you even be certain that the OPK's are accurate? I am new to using them, but from the little bit of research I have done, it seems they aren't 100%. Did you go to the OB today? I hope you get that +OPK very soon. I am thinking of you.:hug:

Ok girls.. I am here... just shaking the sand out of my ears.

OK so much has happened in here since I lost the nerve to post but I have been popping in to read from time to time.

Flowerchild - glad you are back with us.

OK I have been in Ostrich mode and have burried my head in the sands of denial. I have been having a bit of an emotional struggle atm and so instead of facing and dealing with my demons I have been totally ignoring all the termoil and acting like everything is fine, which it is so far from being. This lead to a bit of a breakdown, I could come in here and when i did I couldn't post, I just felt sad and sick and wanted to cry. So ever the mature well balanced being that I am I just avoided it... if I can't see it its not really there right?... so I am back. I will be posting. Maybe not as much as some of you ... but I think I need to do this in baby steps. Its really hitting hard atm as I have a few pg people around me who are all due around when the twins were due and they are all having boys... sometimes its just hard to keep smiling and hoping my face wont crack.

Next time (hopefully there wont be one) I go missing have a look for me in the recipies, baby names or sick kids forums.. they are my safety haunts.
