Fat Quarter Projects?

Does anyone have any good projects to use on some fat quarters I won in a competition? There are stacks of them, all different patterns but not anything that I'd be able to put all together into a quilt IYKWIM.

So hit me with your ideas ladies...

try googling Melly & Me. They do great paterns for animals and bags. I have several of the animal patterns if you wanted to borrow them.

There's a Melly & Me pattern for two little chickens in the prize pack I won, sooo cute, but the FQ's don't really suit it

He he, you can tell I've never done quilting before, can someone tell me what a fat quarter is please??

OK GG - here goes!

Imagine when you normally buy fabric you just measure the amount that you want off the roll and that is how much you get.

When we talk fat quarters we are talking 1/4 of a yard. A ? of a yard is about 23cm. So the piece of fabric that you would get if it was just cut straight from the roll is 23cm by normally 90cm (long and thin).

In comparison a fat quarter is a half yard piece cut in half the other way. So it is about 46cm by 45cm. So it is far more useful when it comes to quilting and craft projects.

Does that make sense?

Sarah you could make a library/book bag. I brought some and am going to make a library bag for DD2 for school next year. You could also make an organiser that hangs behind their bedroom doors with heaps of little pockets on it to store all the little fiddly things.

I've been googling & have found lots of fun things I can try for Christmas. A small camera cover for my sister, a kids tote bag for bag obsessed miss J and also a reusable shopping for MIL.

You could also make a small apron for her too. I was going to make one for my niece for Christmas
