Thread: How to pin a dress?

Default How to pin a dress?

Can I just start by saying, I don't sew. I can barely hem my own pants.

I bought a dress off eBay last week to wear to a Hen's party this weekend. I tried it on last night and it's a size too big. My DSD1 stood behind me and pulled it in so it bunched at the back, so I'm wondering if there's a quick and easy way I can pin the dress?

I don't own a sewing maching so can I do this by hand? Or would I be able to even do it using safety pins?

    Thanks in advance

Want to bring it over, and I'll do it for you? I might even actually stitch it so it looks reasonable....

That's a lovely offer Audax Would the correct answer be to follow the seams and darts (if any)? I would probably focus on adjusting it down the side seams? yeah?

Bath, I hope these questions were directed at Audax, because I don't have a clue what you're talking about

Thanks again for the offer Audax, I really appreciate you helping me out!! It was lovely meeting you last night and I am still suffering some serious cloth envy over your collection
