Yep, I'm struggling getting in to it. And I tried to read it while camping beside a river with my one little boy - so good luck Myboys!!!

I do get the feeling though that I am just in the set up for the book so I am trying ot persevere, but if it still doesn't go anywhere soon I may just have to give up!! It reminds me of the series Lost, just waiting for something to happen that you can make a connection with and it just keeps going........ aaaagggghhhh!

Hey Beatrix - don't be like that, I was really liking the sound of the book when i read the back of the cover...

Seems like the tricky 'hard to get into bit' is at the beginning of the book, but then it gets easier???

Definitely different to my usual style - Beatrix don't be silly - that was the whole point from my perspective, I really wanted to be exposed to different books and ideas, not the stuff I normally read. I did enjoy it too, in the end I was keen to see how it turned out. xx

The first 50 pages are tough, but it's really good after that...and I think it was a great choice!

I've made it to the end of the first chapter so far (didn't get much reading done by the river except travelling in the car ), it's so difficult to find time to read. It has been difficult to get into but many books like that end up being great and that's what i'm expecting here. I'm sure once we're all done we'll be saying it was well worth perservering

I'm at about page 50 & I'm not minding it either!

Beatrix - The whole idea of a bookclub is to read other books you normally wouldn't
We tend to get stuck in cycles of reading the same genre over & over so a bookclub forces us to read other styles... and expand our interests.
Don't worry at all about suggesting anything - whether we love it or hate it, it will make for a great discussion

Just a suggestion as I was thinking the other night - do you think we should pick the books a month/ 2 months ahead?
Just thinking for those who have to go on a waiting list at the library, or who have to order books in at their local bookshop, it gives everyone plenty of time to order/wait for the book to come in & doesn't cut into their reading time?
    Let me know your thoughts

    Re: BellyBelly Bookclub

I think that's a good idea especially since I had to wait weeks for this book to come in
