The Elenium trilogy is actually David Eddings, got them mixed up again , so definitely am happy that I got them - we also recently bought Eragon and Eldest, which is great as it sounds like he should enjoy them too! Will just have to get Brisinger.
Hopefully one day i will remember to sit down and finally read The Magician... Anthony has been begging me to for months!!
I have to say... love Eddings, love Douglas, love Hobb, kinda lukewarm on Jordan... This is giving me some added motivation to finally get my act together and read Magician, which is sitting around here. And Eragon, which is also sitting around unread.
As for other authors I've enjoyed (there was a huge thread I started along similar lines a while ago) - Jennifer Fallon, Katherine Kerr, Isobelle Carmody (although I am annoyed that she caught me out - I got so sick of waiting for the next book in the wheel of time series that I refuse to start a series until it's finished, but she got me!). Currently reading through a series by Ian Irvine - found it hard to get into at first, but I'm quite enjoying it now.
I've got many more, but they require getting up and checking bookshelves (who am I kidding! The bookshelf is overflowing! Checking the random piles of books scattered about the house!) to remind me of the authors names. They are just the recent ones, there's a lot more that I read and enjoyed years ago.
oooh I love Raymond Feist, he is my favourite. Do you have the single books too (i.e the ones that are not part of a series) "faerie tale" was great.
I had to get the newest one wile it was still in hardcover, so it would be the same size as the others (lol cant have them not liniing up in the bookcase!) So I normally get them at Target or BigW as there cheaper.
David Eddings I like, not so much Robert Jordan though i think thats cos the WOT series was just too long for me.
Terry Brooks is another one I've read reasonable recently so I havent read much but like the "genesis of Shannara" series.
Ian Irvine too, the "View from the Mirror" series. There were 4 books in all I think, and it took me about a third of the first one to get in to it, but after that I read all four in a weekend. Not so much similar in style to Feist though, just a good series.

Rayray, that's the series I'm reading through. Knowing that someone else has found the same thing makes me think it's more the book than me. I was ready to give up at one point, but I'm glad I kept with it until it grabbed me.
I also like the Aurian series by Maggie Furey. At the time I got them it was the first female main character I had read. I re-read this series regularly
