I also really like the Tomorrow series and the Ellie chronicles ...
I loved the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series too - his writing style is very distinct and jarred a little for me personally, but I didn't find it to be too problematic ... my sister gave up after the first one though, because of the style etc.
With My Sister's Keeper, I've only read the book, but I did read a plot summary for the film, and yes, the ending is totally different. I've written something below in white - highlight it if you want to read it ... otherwise, spoiler alert!!
In the book, it's revealed during the Trial that Anna has only been making these claims and bringing the court action because her sister has asked her to ... she is tired, and is ready to die. She would willingly continue providing donor parts and products for her sister - but her sister wants to be allowed to die in peace. Anna then dies in a car crash, and Campbell steps in and Anna's usable organs are harvested (including the kidney) and her sister goes into remission.
In the movie, Anna and Jesse admit that Kate wanted them to being the case - and (as per the book) Anna was still willing to go through with the op. Kate dies at the hospital, with her mother beside her. After Kate's death, Campbell finds out that Anna won the case. The family moves on, but every year on Kate's birthday they go to Montana (her favorite place)
So yeah, totally different. I think the book rocks.
