I am in your area and I have to say that the bread and milk etc is great BUT the fruit and veg I wasn't too keen on.

We got our first delivery last week and the quality wasn't the best. The tomatoes were very hard and were quite dry, the bananas were very small and so were the apples. I guess overall it was ok but I would rather buy from the local markets then spend my $$ on another box from them.

Reminds me, I better put my cooler bag out!

    Just reviving this thread...

Anyone else have any updated feedback on Aussie Farmers Direct? We're likely to be starting soon so just wanted to see how people do it, how often you order and whether you get through the mixed vegie / fruit box.

    Cheers,
    Fiona

I still do it! I get 2 x deliveries per week that are standard with bread, milk, eggs, cheese, juice etc, so I always have fresh bread and milk in the house and 1 x fruit/veg box. It's all online so if I want to add anything, change an order or take a break it can all be done online.

In the time I have been doing it (about 6-7 years) we have had an order not turn up once and an order stolen once (which was credited back) so they have been pretty reliable.

I get weekly order with bread and milk and then various other things depending on week.

Family meat pies are handy to have in freezer.
Beef and thyme shepards pie is nice and easy dinner
Lasagna was nice and easy dinner (not as nice as one i cook but still was nice)
Chicken tenders were handy and good
    Meat balls easy and quick!
    Cheese block and grated nice.

Had a vegi box 1st order and had a few things that were rotten BUT the refunded and apoligised lots.

We get it on a casual basis. If I'm having a really busy week or DH is away for work then I will jump online and put in an order to make my life a bit easier.
I would usually get milk, bread, eggs, butter and sometimes a few extras. For me they have always been great quality.
I always choose my own fruit/veg combinations as their set boxes don't suit us. We grow some veggies ourselves so we obviously don't need to double up.
I haven't tried their meat yet so I can't comment on that.

We got our first delivery yesterday. Very happy with the bread, milk and yoghurt.

We are now going to get fresh stuff through Aussie Farmers Direct and get our staples from Aldi. I don't like the quality of the fresh stuff there, but it is so cheap for the staples so it just means one Aldi shop a fortnight and the rest delivered to home.

I've only had one delivery so I can't really comment too much, just got bread and milk and it seemed fine
Just on the delivery, not sure how it works in other areas but in my area they put the food in an insulated bag (and I leave an empty bag out for them) and deliver it before 7am so I don't need to worry about delivery windows and being home or awake! I just shuffle out in my jim jams when I get up and get it.

ETA - I am going to try the fruit and veg but I think I'll select my own and not get a box, just because normally I have specific things I'm cooking so want specific veggies to fit in with that.
