BBQ side dishes (not meat, that's already marinating!)

Sorry I couldn't find anything like this...
so we are having a bbq tomorrow, heaps of friends coming over... the meat is ready (I mean bought and marinated!) but I would like some suggestions on sides... just to change a bit.
we will have mix salad, grilled vegetables, potato bake, rice salad... heaps of dips and cheese etc... but please share your ideas on what goes with bbq meat...
we will have a long day party (it's an housewarming!), some friends coming over early afternoon, some dinner time...
    any suggestion is highly appreciated!!!
    cheers

I love to have potato salad at a BBQ. I also love the chinese noodle salad recipe on the back of the changs fried noodles...oh yum!!!

I'd probably have a fruit platter to of some kind...I know it is better for summer but there are nice oranges and mandarines and a few other things around at the moment.

I'd possibly bake something too..depends how domestic I'm feeling.

    Have fun

thanks ladies, for the good ideas!
I saw the thread but it was more about meat and how to marinate it... just few suggestions about the sides.
I thought of concentrating just on sides this time.
I tried the noodle salad once and I loved it, thanks for that!
I thought of potato salad, but DH wants to prepare potato bake (and I LOVE IT... it is so rich and fatty, but hey, you eat it once a year... last time though I ate so much I felt sick... so we haven't had it for a while... but I consider it a super treat!!!lol)

    cobb dip.

Baisically cheese, sour cream, bacon, shallots all heated in the microwave til cheese is melted.
Cut top off cobb & empty out, breaking bread up all on an oven tray. Put in oven til warm.
Pour cheese dip into cobb loaf, put in oven til cobb & bread are toasty.
Serve & eat. YUMM!! You can put in mushrooms, spinach, garlic & other stuff.

I'm always up for something fresh... like homemade salsa dip, guacomole, hummous... dips and corn chips and carrots & celery...

BBQ'd brie (get a brie in a wooden box stab it with a knife and fill with white win) then pop ito on an indirectly heated area of the bbq and it will melt and be gooey and great with bbq'd asparagus or bread.

We are big fans of pink salad here (beetroot, cheese, mayo & egg) sounds gross but everyone loves it Its been passed to many many families.
