    Egg substitute

    Hi all

I am about to make some meatballs and have just realised we dont have any eggs and it is a public holiday here today so the shops arent open for me to go and get some more.

My question is what can I use instead of egg to help keep the meatballs together - I normally use breadcrumbs and egg to do this. I have the breadcrumbs but no eggs!! I am sure this is such a basic question but in all honesty I am not the best cook - I try though LOL!!

    TIA
    Jem

2 Tbs of cornflour OR arrowroot flour OR Potato flour (mix with a little water till it makes a paste and combine with meatballs & breadcrumbs etc) Also add a bit of Parmesan cheese too as it will help bind it.

ETA: You can also wet a slice of bread or two and mush that up and add it to the meatballs instead of breadcrumbs and that will also help to bind.
