    Question

Salad ... i made your YUMMY sausage pie tonight ... I put 1 x large zucchini and 1 x medium carrot, i didn't have salt but i don't think it needed it with the cheese in it as it tasted nice enough ... I was wondering if the recipe you wrote is correct for example Should it have more flour as it took 1hour & 20mins in my oven at temp 170 and still wasn't quite set & my oven is usually a bit hot then the reg oven ... Wondering if maybe i should have paper towel soaked the juice out of the zucchini first ?? ... Would so like to know as i would love to make again

Thanks heaps Salad (and DP said " Thanks " too)

hey smiles no worries blokes do seem to love that recipe.

i just checked that I typed it correctly and it seems to be ok, I would agree with you and definantly squeeze out the excess juice in the zuchini I usually just put into colander or pasta/rice strainer and then press out the extra liquid if that makes sense.

At least that gives you another excuse to make another one.

I usually make a quick tomato chutney to go with it and its awesome if you want that recipe too let me know.

No worries at all I am glad you liked it.
Here is the recipe for the chutney:

    Tomato Chutney

    1 tsp brown mustard seeds
    1 brown onion diced
    4 tomatoes chopped
    1 garlic glove crushed
    1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tblsp cider vinegar (i just use normal white vinegar because that is all I have and it still tastes great)

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat, add mustard seeds, cook for 1 minute or untl seeds pop

Add onion cook stirring for 3 minutes or until soft

Add tomotaoes garlic sugar and vinegar, cook stirring until sugar has dissolved. Increase heat to high. Brng to the boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer uncovered for 20 minutes or until mixture thckens- stirring occasionally.

It is really easy and yummy and I serve it with heaps of other dishes as it goes with anything sometimes I just make this and put it over just plain old sausages just to jazz then up a bit. Blokes love this one too. My DH takes leftover for his lunch at work and all the guys want to know what it is and want to taste it lol.
