In the interests of spreading the word, I bought mine from London & American Supply Store at 483 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. Be prepared to buy more than a frypan - it is a chef supplies shop so if you like cooking you will go nuts. Better than any "housewares" store...

They are just generic, el cheapo ones - no brand...

I have to agree about not getting a non-stick pan. I got a heavy bottom stainless steel fry pan and its fantastic!!! I've seasoned it and then MIL unknowingly scrubbed it clean but I've seasoned it again. Its fantastic. I love it so much more than any non-stick pan I've had.... and I've been through quite a few

just thought I'd add Anolon pans aren't teflon coated....the metals are bonded in some special way which make it non stick, anodised? <insert scientific fidgy widgy here>

Get yourself some old school cast iron cookware Lasts forever and it's brilliant because it can go stove top to oven I've found a place that stocks the old school american stuff which is AWESOME!

Anolon are not Teflon, they are anodised.
Teflon is toxic crap, anodised is comepletely different and Anolon are ace pans, mind you, I have only used them twice lol.

But cast iron pans are much better and will last you longer. If I were buying non-stick though, I would buy Anolon or Circulon.

Oh thanks guys, I think I too will have a go at the mild steel pan as per roryrory suggestion...if it does not suit us then will go try some of the other great suggestions!
Will they tell me how to season the pan at the shop roryrory? If not how would I go about that?
heather72 we might end up bumping into one another at London and American Supply Store soon!!!

they should give you some pointers at the store - basically you clean it well then heat oil in it til it smokes, then let it cool and wipe it out. do this about 3-6 times and you'll be set.
