I don't think that a few rolls a day will do any damage to your health. Some fish can have high mercury levels but if you're not eating fish that's no concern.
From a weightloss perspective sushi rice has lots of carbs and it's also made with sugar so it's not as slimming as you'd imagine.
Thanks Pony I do realise that sushi isn't the be-all and end-all as far as weight-loss goes, but I'm sure you'll agree it's a better choice than my usual snacks - chocolate, baked treats (croissants, muffins etc), or fried fast food :/ Baby steps hehehe
Seaweed is a good source of iodine, but also has a lot of bromine which can affect your absorption of other minerals. No reason not to eat it, but balance is always the key!
I'd also be concerned about how salty nori is - but really, you just need to make sure you're drinking heaps of water with it as well (will help with weight loss anyway) and you should be OK. I'd reckon on 200mL (small glass) with every roll.
