Man I hate sifting!!!!!!!!
I hardly ever do it!! It's never too much of a problem, lol.
But I will be whisking now!
Am I the only one that hates sifting? I never do it, I learnt a wonderful trick on Martha and do that instead unless something requires double or triple sifting I do this instead... What is it do I hear you ask?! WHISK! I use a metal whisk (plastic ones don't work as well) and whisk the dry ingredients together in a bowl and it works I swear! It aerates it and combines it without the need of an annoying sifter! And its done in half the time![]()

I don't sift either LOL.
Love
never was much of a sifter but am finding its a great thing to get makon to do! so we are sifters now
yep, hate sifting here too. I use the whisk sometimes too Cailin to it's good to hear that it still works just the same.
Sometime I just grab the metal strainer and tap it through that way too.
Nic
I'm a sifter.... so I'll have to think about whisking next timethanks for the tip!!
Yay Cailin
I hate sifting too - Will try the whisk next time![]()
I've always just foofed it around a bit with a fork, whisker is a much better idea!
Great idea, but I love sifting with my tupperware sifter...
lol @ 'foofed'
my mum always says that!!
I quite like siftingI hold it up nice and high and pretend I'm Delia Smith (British TV chef) who is fanatical about proper sifting! The trick is to have a nice large bowl to receive the sifted ingredients otherwise it can get messy. But I'll try the whisk method Cai... maybe next time I do pancakes... that'll be a test! Love 'em fluffy!
God love you, that is what who I always think of when I am sifting!I quite like sifting I hold it up nice and high and pretend I'm Delia Smith (British TV chef) who is fanatical about proper sifting!
Love my Tupperware sifter though.....
But Cai, I will try your whisking concept...........
Hmm, I love sifting too! I got one of those dodgy old-style sifters from my mum for my kitchen tea - one of the metal ones with the wooden handle at the side... I find my sifting a little therapeutic even
ETA: When I make cakes I use a whisk to combine the ingredients too - you can actually see the air bubbles in the mixture!
OK I'm a freak - I love sifting, I love making sure that there are no lumps or anything in the dry ingredients - ok this does stem from being in africa when the rice you bought from the markets had small rocks in it and if you didn't hand sift you would end up eating rocks.
I too love my tupperware sifter
Shaz, really. That's hilarious...
schaz, yeah its similar with lentils, all my recipes say to pick over the lentisl to remove any stones. I do it by hand though, not with a sieve.
