    Questions about freezing food...

    Hi

I'm not much of a cook but something over came me this weekend and now I have questions that I've never had before...

I made a huge pot of chicken soup yesterday that has been in the fridge since. Can I freeze some of it? How long will it keep for in the freezer? How long will it keep for in the fridge?

I also made a big pot of meat sauce for pasta - same questions...how long will it keep for in the freezer? how long in the fridge?

    Thanks!

Yes, go ahead and freeze them. Put them in meal size portions so you don't waste any. I always freeze after a day or so so it will not go bad. If you have some use microwave containers to freeze then it just a matter of popping it in to reheat then eat. You can also use zip lock bags to freeze things in.
Good on you for giving these a go, look forward to seeing what you try next. In a lot of cases cooking is trial and error and we all have these with many errors.

I prefer to use ziplock bags to freeze soup as I make such a huge batch I run out of containers when freezing it LOL. It should keep for 2-3 months in the freezer.
