    Thickened Cream??

Ok I was given a fair quanity of thickened cream and as we're going to be moving in the next week have packed all my recipe books away, sooo....

What would you suggest I use it in?
It can be sweet or savoury.

Let me know what would you use it for, thanks.

    hugs xoxo

anything with white sauce! use cream instead of milk and make a rich creamy (cheesy) sauce! yum!

also read a recipe the other day that i'm keen on trying - make a packet of pineapple jelly, put it in the fridge til it starts to set - whip 300ml of cream, fold this through the jelly with a tin of fruit salad (would have to check the exact recipe - but it sounded really nice - might even try it myself tonight!)

Yum BG, can you post the recipe if you get a min.

Thats a good idea about the creamy garlic sauce Rach, might have to get some prawns, yummy.

I would love to do a pav, oh I've got a pav magic or what ever they are called that might be an idea to try tomorrow.

Keep the ideas going girls, thanks.

ok - straght from the back of the passionfruit sauce bottle!

prepare 85g of pinapple jelly - refrigerate until beginning to set
lightly stir through jelly with 300ml of whipped cream and a 425g tin of fruit salad (drained)
refrigerate until set, and serve topped with whipped cream and passion fruit dessert sauce (if you have any)

we're experimenting tonight - but don't have pineapple jelly so swapping with another fruit jelly - and will likely serve with ice cream (and no dessert sauce - we ran out of it, and only looked at the label cos we were about to through the bottle out...!)

You can use cream for lots of things

quiche, then you can freeze it once it's cooked (see sushee's thread for recipees)
Yum, creamy garlic sauce, or mustard sauce
Use it instead of butter and milk for mashed potato
Whip it and add it to any dessert.
You could also make some soup, like pumkin or cream of broccoli or chicken
