    I don't preboil mine. Apart from anything else it saves dirtying an extra pot

    I'm going to be different here! I always preboil, the potatoes taste much better that way (imo!) much fluffier and softer and soaks the sauce up a lot better ... now i want scalloped potatoes .. wonder if we have enough cheese

    I tend to nuke them for a short while. That way they can be precooked in the same dish that I use in the oven.

    I put mine into a microwave container with cream and cook them until they're tender... the cream gets thicker and the potatoes taste 100 times better IMO
