    Spray oil

I have a great cake tin, lent to me by a mother of a child in my class, which are train carriages. they are very detailed so I need to make sure the mix doesn't stick but I don't want the taste of the spray oil in them. Can anyone recommend a good spray oil/cooking spray which doesn't flavour the cake at all???

I only ever buy the Black and Gold one and I've never been able to taste it yet when I use it for that. If you are still worried about it, you could melt some butter and then use a pastry brush to completely coat the inside of the tin and give a light dusting with flour.

I personally would use melted butter and dust it with the cake mix you are making (just the dry ingredients) this way it won't stick and the outside won't be covered in butter. I wouldn't use oil spray for the same reason you've mentioned.

I just realised trill said the same thing

Yep - I use this one too - haven't ever noticed a taste. Don't use olive oil because it's got a taste.
