omg omg omg! I can't believe some of these things!!!
I bit into a chicken nugget once and it had a big piece of red plastic in there. I sent it to the company who sent me a $5 coles voucher, and they got back to me saying there is no way it was in there as there is nothing that it is red and plastic in their factory!!
I just remember finding some clear plastic in a vegie patty from the fish and chip shop. It was really big and sharp like glass. I had been about to give the patty to ds who was 2 at the time, but thought I should test it first....
I rang the city council who gave me the number of who to call (food safety inspector people) and they told me to keep it and bring it in. They never got back to me about what it was or what happended to the place it came from.
I found dead insects in baby museli too and sent that back. They sent me a voucher for $5 or 10 but never said anthing about it. It had taken me about $10 in toll calls getting thru to them to ask where to send it...and the spending ages explaining that no, the insects were not from my cupboard!
Usually I have found it hard to get through on the phone when wanting to complain and if they do respond, as many have already said, you get a pathetic compensation voucher - and as if you want to buy their product again after finding something in it!

i remember when i worked at maccas night shift when i was like 15 and some regular rude customers (always drunk and abusing us for being slow, trying to get free stuff etc) were being thier usual PITA selves, the bloke in the kitchen was rushing to get thier burgers and dropped one on the floor sauce-down...we looked at eachother and smirked and he just picked it up , put the bun back together and wrapped it up and gave it to them...naughty i know but oh how hilarious watching these PITA customers eat it ravenously
I once was eating spinach and riccotta raviolli (back in my vego days) bit into only to find it was beef raviolli i looked at the packet which said it was spinach and ricotta rang up and they said it was my fault for picking up the wrong one gah!!!
