DS wants me to make Vegie soup today, so I have Pumpkin, carrots, Sweet Pot, Pot, Zucchini, brocolli & a Swede
Would the swede taste alright in the soup? I have only ever used it in stews.
TIA

the soup packs you buy in the shops usually have turnip and swede in them, so, when i'm buying veg for soup, i usually buy exactly the same stuff
when i do a pumpkin based soup, i blend it up anyway, and to be honest, you can't taste the swede at all - it all smooshes together! i feel wrong making soup without it!
It's divine!! I always use swede in my vege soup and it's delicious. DO make sure that you cut it into small cubes though because it can stay a bit fibrous if left in large chunks - even if it's been cooked for hours. If you puree your vege soup, then it wont matter what size it is in the cooking.
But I bet he wouldn't have asked for vege soup last week ROFL!
Thank you
Yep only wants soup today as he has a cold and like a typical male "Im very very very sick mummy" and lying around like he's going to expire any minute![]()
Yeah, swede rocks out!
I wish we had more soup weather up here.... Sigh.
