It would only take one bout of food poisoning for him to be happy with the fridge... just sayin'!
I used to work in a commercial kitchen and this is what I learned:
food can be left out (at room temp) for 4 hours safely. But this is the TOTAL, so if you had meat that was out for an hour, then you cooked it, it could only sit out for another 3 hours.
you should put things in the fridge as soon as they are cool enough that they won't bring the temperature of the fridge up (ie so not when they are boiling hot, but no need to wait til they are cold either).
cling wrap is pretty toxic and I wouldn't want to eat food that had been touching it when it was hot
Covered with foil on the bench for up to an hour. Then it goes in the fridge. Unless I know he's going to be more than an hour, then it goes straight in the fridge.
Dinner for whoever's not home is always put in the microwave at my parents' place and if there's more than one we're waiting on, it goes under a teatowel...
It depends. Sometimes i cook when he is due home and if he happens to be 10 mins late i will plate it up and put it in the microwave but if hes more than an hour he will say himself not to worry about him but i always put left overs in the fridge.
But he used to work nights and wouldn't be home til real late so i wouldnt cook for him at all.
