    Birthday present for 4yo boy?

    Hi ladies...
I know I have left this soooo late, so I'm just hoping to God that some of you are hanging around BB today and can help me out before the shops close hahaha...

My mum bumped into a girl I went to preschool and grade 1 with the other day, she and her partner have recently moved to town and it's their son's 4th birthday party tomorrow. She has invited DH, DD and I, and I'd love to catch up, but I'm SOOOO stuck for ideas on what to get a 4-year-old boy!! All my friends with kids that age or older have girls, so they're no help lol... I have no idea what he's into or what characters etc he likes, so I'm just wondering if any of you have some ideas as to what would keep a 4yo amused?? Obviously, I'm looking to keep costs pretty low, but any and all suggestions are more than welcome, and much appreciated

    Thanks!!

Seriously, you cant go past hot wheels cars or matchbox. My DS LOVES plaing with them - especially outside in the dirt where he and DH make roads. They are about $10 for a pack of 4.

We're going to a boys 4yr birthday today! (My daughters "boyfriend" hehe) I just asked my daughter what he liked & she told me "Ben 10" I think alot of boys around that age like ben 10

I got him a large bouncy ball which is filled with water & has blue glitter inside so when you bounce it, it looks really cool It was $12 from Big W. DD was crazy about the pink one so I thought if she liked the ball a boy should aswell... only in blue of course LOL

Good luck, I hope you find something today.

You could get some winter pj's. There are some great ones around at the moment.

I think you can never go past books... you can pick most books up for really good prices.

I second Ben10 as well... my friend's DS turned 4 in April and he is Ben10 mad - he also likes Diago (sp? he is Dora's cousin or something)

Cars and trucks are usually a safe bet, or lego - you can get some good age appropriate sets. Or dinosaurs - 4 year old boys always seem to love dinosaurs. Super heroes are another good one - superman, batman, spiderman, the hulk, ninja turtles. Another thing my DS loved was this egg thing that you put in water and after a day or so it 'hatches' an alien or baby dinosaur.

I was coming in to say anything Ben 10 would be a sure thing... if my nephews are anything to go by... they love him!
