The safe use of condoms is a much more important 'skill' for young people to have than using the pill, because learning to use condoms with new sex partners will protect them from STDs as well as pregnancy.
Good point, Michael. I hadn't wanted to suggest that there'd be multiple partners at such a young age but that's no doubt extremely old-fashioned of me. And to see it as a habit to get into or a 'skill' as you put it, is a good way of looking at it.
