Desperately need help...can a 7 year old get af??

What sort of activities has she been doing lately? Some girls get a small bleed when they tear their hymen - sports, horseriding etc and she just may have hurt herself there, maybe even a scratch?

I agree, is she sporty at all? I was super sporty when I was younger, and I had what your are describing, a small amount of brownish blood when i was 7 or eight. Although I got AF at nine, so maybe it was a sort of lead up to AF?

I really hope she isn't hun, but I think the best thing to do is talk to her about it and ask her. If it is AF, that will be hard for the both of you, but she's lucky because she has such a great mum to help her through it.

2 of my aunts got their period at 8. One of my aunts was overweight for her age, the other wasn't at all. We have a history in my family of getting periods rather early, but 12 seems to be the average age for us.

I would definitely have a talk to your DD and definitely take her to the Dr. Does your DD know what a period is? If so, would she have come to you and told you? I had to educate my older DD early on as there was a chance she could have got AF early.

Without any other signs of hormonal changes in her body I would very much doubt it would be AF. I would go down the UTI track with her first, so as not to get her worried and take her to the drs for a full health check.
