Well even though she'd been swimming, there were a couple marks on her undies. Not noticable, but she had been in the beach.
She thought it was poo. I know its not far enough at the back for that. I haven't said anything about what I think it could be yet. Told her I think it could be blood, but not sure why.
Told her to put light undies on & keep an eye on it & tell me if she see's anything again.

No itchiness, boys or someone touching got a 'eww! Why would a boy touch it?' She said something about belly pain & I did keep her home Thursday coz of a belly ache, but that isn't much to go on.

When I got mine at 9, I was mortified. I had a pool party that day and mum TOLD THE MOTHER. Of course, she told her daughter, etc, and by Monday, everyone in my class knew.

I suppose you will take her to the doctor? She will be fine Hopefully if it is AF, it won't come back again for some time!

Its my only chance to get the car, its 10 hours away. I would put it off just to take her to the gp, but I need it to get to the gp

can your friend loan you her car while she looks after the kids? this isn't something i'd be waiting on. i know how important a car can be, but your DD is important and this is one time i'd be pulling out all the stops to get her to the GP - evenif it's not your regular gp

BG I know, but I can't even buy food without my car. I might be able to get in tomorrow or Wednesday. I'll see if mum will bring a car over for me to use....Can't see that happening, but I'll try... She works pretty much full time though, running her business, so can't just not be there.

Poor darling...actually, the both of you You're both confused and hoping it's nothing.
Even if you can't get to the GP tomorrow, I'd go with giving the GP a call to talk about it (tell the receptionist you just can't physically get there and really need to speak to the GP about a sensitive matter to do with your DD - they can usually call back during the day).
I remember when I got that brown spotting and being mortified by it, because I thought all of those things - not wiping properly, or with the belly ache, thinking I'd underrated a fart! That happened at age 12 and I didn't get a proper AF till I was 14 (much to the jealousy of the girls I went to school with!), so it felt like a big fat false start (but with much relief that it was only that).
I got pubic hair at age 9 and that was just socially hideous - up until that point I had normal friends and a normal school life and after that I moved into 'outsider' mode fairly quickly and never moved back from there (for which I am now grateful), but body hair (as with boobs, which I didnt' develop till much later) is a very visible marker of difference from the pre-pubescent peer group. If it IS AF, then at least no-one needs to know about it for a while.
If it turns out to be AF, it probably won't develop into proper flow till a lot later. When that time comes, may I suggest the Mooncup? My thinking on it (and I've only just had my first DD, so this is pure opinion!) is that dealing with AF positively could help her through the transition, rather than thinking that AF has to be dealt with by using disposable products that get very smelly and feel yuck. I know when I started using my MC my whole attitude to my period took on a different colour and because of how it works I felt liberated on many fronts - environmental conscience was lifted, no more smelly paper products and, like a tampon, I could still go swimming (but better than a tampon, I can leave it in overnight!). Just my thoughts about how I was going to approach AF with DD - as in, she's going to grow up seeing me use my Mooncup and be positive about it and it will be her normality when her time comes, too.
Whatever happens, I wish you weren't hanging onto all sorts of possibilities till you get mobile again

Yes I am all for the mooncups for teenage girls! But for a young girl I think they are far too invasive - pads are really the best choice for a pre-teen IMO...
