The recommended dose of paracetamol is 15mg per kg of body weight. So, if your DD weighs 20kg (about average for a 5 year old) she would need 20kg x 15mg = 300mg. A Panadol tablet contains 500mg of paracetamol. Half a tablet is pretty spot on for dosage with a margin for error if you don't split it accurately.

DD1 is 6 and still can't swallow tablets but we discovered that DD1 can when we started giving them the kids fish oil tablets. Thats why I decided to try giving her the pandol.
She did chew a bit of it so I don't suspect she got that much but it worked. She fell back asleep not long after I started lymphatic massage on the sore ear.
