VCE subject question....

So DD is starting VCE next year at a new school. She got into all the subjects she wanted except for Psychology. Now the only 2 subjects left are Drama and Business Management - I think she would rather do Proctology than either of those.

So the name of the game is to get the highest scores, and to do either of these would be a complete waste. Is it possible she can do another subject some other way? Distance? TAFE?

I have no idea about VCE, I am old and did HSC....

Lulu back in the day when I did VCE there were some schools that had an agreement that their students could attend classes at other campus's if that school didn't offer the class or if it was full (psych was always the first to go)
Can't hurt to ask if they have a scheme like that.
But if not - Bus Man is the easiest score you can get....

Thats what I thought (about Business Managment). DD asked around a bit and was told it was the most boring subject in the world, so she was a bit wary. Hhhmmmm, will have to let her know.

it's not the most exciting class in the world but it's pretty handy as it's one of those classes you will actually use on the outside ....LOL
also depends on who teaches it - it has the scope to have a lot of hands on out in the community prac's (or it did about 8 years ago when I did it ...LOL)

You can do subjects through correspondence if they're not offered at your school. THe school should be able to help her with setting it up. She should "act" as if it's during the periods when BusMan would be on - ie do her study in the library at that time, otherwise it may be difficult to catch up if she's not particularly studious.

lulu- i'm actually a VCE business management teacher so i can help you out on this one. it is a very easy subject, but if your dd's aim is to get as high a TER as possible, then i wouldn't be taking it. it is graded down in your results so that even if she gets straight A+s, this will not contribute to her score in the same way as say A+s in physics.
the best bet would be to do a subject by correspondence, although this can be super hard- especially for unmotivated students (i don't know if your dd is this or not, but i know a lot of students have found it very challenging).
