Depends, can your kids use the oven/stove unsupervised? (to melt chocolate/bake biscuits etc?) Then I would have some ideas for you...

what about fruit kebabs? You cut up the fruit for them and let them thread the fruit onto paddle pop sticks. Looks great and super easy!

We made Christmas star trees yesterday with our kids ... [link removed for privacy reasons. PM me if you want the link ]

I made the dough but the kids cut out the stars and I put royal icing into a small sauce bottle for them each and they 'glued' them together. My advice would be - don't aim for anything too big as it was performing great feats of gravity defience by the end just to stay upright. They make great gifts when they are done for other people.

    Super easy Christmas puddings -

Crumble up a cheap christmas cake and mix with a little lemonade (just enough to make it wet enough to hold together when you roll them)
Roll into little balls and put in fridge for a little while.
Melt white chocolate to go on the top of them and decorate with red and green lollies to look like holly.

I make these almost every year to take places (if it is for adults add some brandy with the lemonade!)
