Just wondering what everyone is doing for Christmas Lunch this year? Have the IL's coming from SA and looking for ideas which don't include Seafood (MIL is allergic)... I nomrally do a Roast Pork with all the trimmings but DH wants something different...

we're doing roast lamb, prawns (to shut the brother and hubby up!), roast chook, ham, and then baked vegies. doing roast spuds, maybe some sweet potato and onion, but most of it cooked into a vegie bake i made and froze on Thursday - lotsa veg, gently stir fried in garlic butter, then add white sauce and bake it up. mum and i sampled on thursday - divine!

I am cooking a joint of beef on Christmas Eve and we will have a roast dinner (with all the trimmings) on Christmas Eve night. Then on Christmas Day for lunch will will have cold sliced meats (the beef, ham, turkey and pork pie), jacket potatoes and salads.

And for pudding a Christmas cassata........

having xmas with my mum, my sister and her crew ... + mums 2 foster kids going to be fantastic

    thoughts so far are

roast turkey thigh and breast things
    prawns
mum wants roast pork yes we do a big meal in generally 35+c heat LOL
    ham
roast chooks ( we cheat here red rooster)
    assortment of roast vegies
I would like caeser salad, a mixed salad, pasta and potata salad

followed by xmas cake (homemade), plum pudding (tin), trifle and most likely pavolova

then we will all fall on the floor from over eating

then boxing day we are down to gstone with IL's for a xmas feast wont be as good as mums though

We always have Turkey on Christmas Day.

I like the idea of a gourmet BBQ with roast vegies for something different. That would take some of the pressure off you too becuase DH could cook the meat.
