How much awake time are you getting with bubs? Charlotte seems to be going for 1-2 hours 2-3 times a day now

    Thanks Linda

ETA -- we are getting a similar amount of awake time here... a couple of hours a few times a day! It is really nice to see her cooing and smiling. She also almost rolled over (tummy to back... got beyond halfway and then sorta gave up) the other day but hasn't even got that close again since so was probably a fluke. At any rate, it is so amazing to see her develop. I just love sitting there watching her!

Kodi babbles & smiles heaps now. She also loves watching her sister run around the house like the nut she is. Kodi is awake for close to 2hrs 3-4 times a day.

BIG CONGRATS JITTERBUG on the engagement that is so exciting!!!!!!
Did you know he was going to propose or was it a surprise.

All is good here, Ella is growing well, she is in her 00's now, i love the smiling and baby talk, makes it all worthwhile when you can see there personality coming through.
She has been sleeping from 9pm till 6 all week, hope she keeps it up.
We moved her too her own room as she is a noisy sleeper and keeps us awake, it was hard but she is really close and i can still hear her from our room.

I have no car this week, am going to be bored stuck in the house :-(

Tiggerlinda We moved Josh into his own room (but still in the bassinette) after about 2 weeks....he is such a noisy sleeper and I would lie awake most of the night very paranoid listening to him!! If I was breastfeeding he probably wouldve stayed in our room alot longer tho.

Trinity Thanks for sharing your experience...I was telling DH about it, and I think he is abit worried that I want to start trying again already lol

MrsC I hope you had a good visit with your Mum...my MIL is in town atm, but not staying with us, its nice to have her pop in and out occassionally. I hope the good blocks of sleep last for you!!

Jitterbug Congrats on your engagement!!! Thats wonderful! How exciting for you guys Yea the mobile over the change table has been so fabulous for us....cant figure out why I didnt think to try one sooner! DH sent the forms for the birth cert off the second day I was home and I only jst got it...so about 6.5 weeks!

Storm I hope your DD settles down soon and gives you abit of a break! Wow Noah gave you a couple of huge sleeps there...I hope you were able to make the most of it and catch up on some sleep yourself too!

Josh is having about the same amount of wake time as you guys...and he has settled into a good sleep each night too. Normally from about 8.30pm to 2.30am and then wakes again at 6.30am just in time to wake DH up for work. He is really starting to show interest in his toys now too, watching them closely and cooing and smiling when they sing or squeak. He hasnt shown much attempt in rolling yet tho, but he is starting to enjoy tummy time abit more so hopefully thats a good start!! Is ayones bubs starting to open up their hands more and reach for things??? Josh still has really tightly closed fists most of the time!!

Jitterbug - CONGRATULATIONS!!! that is so exciting!! looking forward to hearing all the plans as you start prepaing!!

Storm - 14hour blocks of sleep? I freak out when i wake after 4 hours and Susie is still asleep!! am gonna try slightly more freqient feeds in the day to see if she goes a longer stretch at nigt, but even if its a 4hour block each night plus a couple of short blocks i countmyself blessed!! sorry tro hear ur haing ongoing issues with DD.. hope things improve there!!

cant beliee how different the sizes everyones bub is in!! amazing considering all a similar age!!

in answer to a few questions,...i think we'll prob start trying afain inthe new year, we'd like between 18 and 24 months between kids. we only tried once to get Susie so dont wanna start trying for next bub too early lol!! Also we think we'll keep Susie inour room till prob 3 months and see how we go moving her...her room is next to ours anyway do its not so far!

we're starting to get smiles and voicalising attempts..geta lot of soundless talking if that makes sense lol!! but starting to getr the ooh and aah as well!!

how's everyones libido going? I've started feeling 'in the mood' a couple of times lately but havent had my 6 week checkup yet and bleeding still therre albeit almost gone again. i was just surprised to see my libido again so soon lol!!

I cant believe Susie is 6 weeks (and 1 hour) old already!! where did the time go!! we haf a lovely time with mum..she and I both had a cry when she left cause not sure when we'll see her next so hard that shes in melbourne and still woking full time...think she'll try and stop work by the end of the year though!

WOOHOO Jitterbug - that is Fabulous news!! Very exciting

TiggerLinda - We are getting about 1hour to 2hour blocks of awake/play time during the day, at night we get sleep which is great. Still about 4 hour blocks at night.
We are still feeding every 3hours to make sure weight gain is still nice and steady and everything is going well.

We are still in 0000 sizes here

Had great cooing and ahh's and babble and a different cry, but not a yucky cry a cute cry, yet to work out what it is though.
Smiles are slowly coming in which is so exciting. I am looking forward to lots of smiles

Edison grabs his leg on the change table and holds it which is pretty great - he also grabs his umm, well, you all know - he is a BOY! It is good he is grabbing things - hahaha!

MrsC_Aussie - Libido is slowly coming back but I still much prefer sleep! Yes I said that out loud! YAY for you though!

Helen_au - Those blocks of night time sleep are great, I don't think we are too far off bigger sleeps - bring them on I say.

kellbell - 9pm to 6am sleep time? I WANT THAT! nice one I have my fingers and toes crossed for you that Ella keeps it up

Wow I had time to write a few personals - I'll try and finish the rest!

    xxx

    Hi everyone,
Sorry i disappeared for a while its been busy while hubby's been working away.

We had our 6 week checkup today, all going good bubs put on 480g in 2 weeks I hope its a growth spurt and things slow down. David is now 5.5kg 61cm long.. soon to be in 0 size clothing which is scary cos we haven't got that much clothes.

MrsC- like you we got to sleep 4.5 hrs the other night and one lot of 6 i nearly died of shock when i woke up and we'd almost skipped a whole feed.

Bubs seems to sleep long from 7/8pm onwards MCHN suggested waking him at 10pm to feed and then his long sleep will be until 7am ish but i'm not sure about waking him when he's sleeping, knowing our luck he'd stay awake all night. Does anyone wake their bubs for feed? I said to MCHN that we weren't worried because we've been going to bed at 9 anyways

Next weeks a big week, start mothers group, going to go along to a Breastfeeding Association meeting and bubs has an ultrasound on his hips to make sure no hip displaysia (both my nieces have it).

We've started to try to follow some sort of bedtime pattern before his evening sleep, bath, feed and story so that he (and more like us) are used to it as he starts to tell night from day. Not sure how it will go though, has been good the few nights we've done it though. Does anyone else have bedtime routines?

We had our 6 week checkup today, all going good put on 480g in 2 weeks Ihope its a growth spurt. I've been demanding feeding, but MCHN said to try not to feed him if its been less than 3hrs as bubs is doing so well. David is now 5.5kg 61cm long.. soon to be in 0 size clothing which is scary because we haven't got that many clothes.

Big week next week, start Mothers Group first session is baby massage, going to tag along to breastfeeding association get together and bubs has ultrasound on his hips to check for hip displaysia (it runs in the family).

Has anyone done baby massage? Or been to breastfeeding association get togethers?

tiggerlinda - me to! our sling really seems to calm/comfort bubs when he's overtired or upset. we've had lots of compliments of it and how comfy it looks when out at the shops too.

    Hi all,

Jasmine was born on 2 April so technically I should not be part of this thread... but most of you were in the same pregnancy thread as me, and the lovely TL is here. So I'm hoping it is okay that I join in.

All is going well for us. Jasmine is putting on weight nicely (700 grams in 2 weeks!) and is now 4.5kgs. We are still in 0000 clothing, but I think she will start growing out of them in the next couple of weeks. She is social smiling regularly now and has some great conversations with me (so lovely).

I will have to read through the thread to catch up on everything. But just wanted to say a big HI to all you mummy's. Hope you are all well.

    Janie xxx
