Hi BD! I've been too shy to be the first one to post here (lol) - my little girl made her grand entrance on 4 June. Can't believe she is 2 weeks old already!

How are you going with everything?

Hello All Natalya Marie was born on 13th June and surprised all of us by being 2 weeks early - I was totally unprepared for her!

She also seems to have her body clock all mixed up...and seems to have lovely long sleeps during the day and is restless at nightime. Hopefully that will all settle down soon.

Look forward to sharing our babies journey with you all.

    to all

After lurking around bb for the past 5 months or so, it's finally time for me to jump back in and start posting

My bubbas Grace Veronica and Hannah Elizabeth were born 13th of June at 33+6 weeks, and DH and I are in love

The girls are still in the Special Care Nursery and I'm boarding at the hospital for now to be close by for feeds (we live almost an hour from the hospital). They are only suck feeding every second feed, but hopefully it won't be too long before we can take them home and really start our journey as a family.

I look forward to geting to know you all, and your precious bundles

    Hi all

As Bridg said in our other thread I welcomed the arrival of my smallest Princess @ 12.55am, 11th June, taking me to 40wks + 3days.
She is a absolute dream & couldn't be anymore perfect! Her older siblings totally adore her too *sigh*

    Hello all,

Finally got some time to get on here and announce the birth of my beautiful boy. William MacGreggor arrived 8 June @ 2:45pm - one week early. 3110kg, 47cms long. I went into labour spontaneously at home about 8:30am. We went to hospital in the early afternoon and I was convinced that they would send us home. But just for fun our little one was well and truly on his way bottom first - I was 8 cm dilated and getting pushy. They took me straight to theatre and he was born via emergency ceasearean due to being breech.

We are all good - having some feeding issues though. He is a little savage so has wrecked my nipples to the point where I'm expressing and suck feeding him to give them a rest. Hoping that will improve and I can put him back on the boob soon. Owchies is all I can say.

Congrats to all of you other new mums out there...what a ride huh!?

Hi ladies - lovely to see this thread filling up with mums and bubs

lollybaby - congrats on the arrival of little William! Sorry to hear he has been giving you a lot of pain bfing - my ds was a bit of a barracuda (lol!) and it's not fun - sounds like you've got a pretty good alternative going there. And yes - what a ride indeed

mum030709 - congrats on the arrival of your newest princess - sounds like you are very smitten...

alloy - what gorgeous bubby girls you have! congratulations on the birth of Hannah and Grace - beautiful names too. I hope they are continuing to do well in SCN and that you're doing ok living away. I know its not good to wish time away but I hope it zooms by for you until you get to take your little bundles home...

Ang - congrats again on the early arrival of little Natalya - I love the pic of your 3 kids together, what a great shot. IKWYM about the big sleeps during the day and being unsettled at night. Lila is doing pretty good now but the last couple of nights has had a big unsettled patch between 4.30 - 7am, just when I could use a couple more hours sleep! Hope Natalya can switch it around soon, and when she does please ask her to tell Lila!

Big hello to kitten, Ali (how is the pelvic pain now?) and BD - hope you and your bubs are travelling along ok...

AFM - Lila had her 0-4 week check up today (at 2w5d) with the CHN and is growing beautifully which is good encouragement when bfing! She has gained 500g from her hospital discharge weight and is now 3.47kg. She has added 2cm to her head circ (now 35.5cm) and 1.5cm in length (now 53cm), and is maintaining steady growth on all of her percentiles which is good - I'll just have to try and remember all of this good growth at the next 2am feed

And a quick intro on us for those I haven't met yet - I was induced at 38 wks due to gestational diabetes, with Lila arriving on 4 June at 8.00am (on the dot) weighing 3.24kg (7lb2oz). DH, DS and I are completely besotted with our little Princess Poppet

Look forward to hearing everyone's updates whenever they are able!

Hi everyone. This is sure to be a very helpful thread.

Well my plans for a fast, drug free, intervention free, VBAC birth totally went out the window, but it ended with a healthy mum and a gorgeous healthy little Lily, so we are thankful for that.

Here's my story, well more of a time line. It seemed easer that way...

    Monday 1/6/09
? Woke up to EPO leaking and thought it was my waters breaking.
? Had a shocking night?s sleep cause I was waiting for contractions ? nothing.

    Tuesday 2/6/09
? Hospital appointment at 1.15pm to discuss induction in 8-10 days. Have an appointment in 7 days to book in for the induction.
? Woke at about 9pm feeling very sick
? Felt first contraction at 10pm.

    Wednesday 3/6/09
? Woke every 35 mins from 3am to 6am with contractions.
? Got up at 6am. Too excited to sleep any more.
? Dazz and BJ left for work and school. Had breakfast and went for a walk.
? Sent mum a text and asked her to come up from the Gold Coast.
? Some contractions are strong and some are soft, so just keeping track of the really strong ones and they are lasting about 25-30 seconds and are about an hour apart.
? Contractions have pretty much stopped from 9am.
? Contractions started again at about 4pm

    Thursday 4/6/09
? Woke every 30 mins with contractions last night, gradually getting stronger and longer each time, lasting upto 90 seconds
    ? Waters broke at 5.10am
? Phoned the hospital and they told me to come in for a check
? Wasn?t very dilated (they didn?t give me a measurement)
? Gave me the option of going home or staying at the hospital
? Chose to go home and was told to come back when contractions were 3 mins apart
? At 11am contractions were 4 mins apart and lasting anywhere up to 2 mins each
? The pain was unbearable and I felt I had to go back to the hospital
    ? At 3:45pm - 4cm dilated
    ? At 7:50pm - 3-4cm dilated
? As there had been no change in four hours syntocin drip was started at 10:30pm & epidural was given. I figured if I was going to have the syntocin, I may as well do it as painlessly as possible.

    Friday 5/6/09
    ? 12:40am - 6cm dilated
    ? 2:50am - 8cm dilated
? 4:00am syntocin was turned off as they were worried about Lily?s heartbeat. They *****ed her head three times to try and get an oxygen reading but the machine to test the blood wasn?t working (this is why they had to do it three times!)
? 5:00am - 9cm dilated. Syntocin was re-started and I was given an hour to progress.
? 6:50am ? 9cm dilated still  Lily?s head was in a transverse position and the moulding of her head suggested an obstructed labour. We then decided we had tried everything possible and opted for a caesarean 
? 7:39am ? Our beautiful baby Lily made her entrance into the world with a beautiful cry
    ? 7:40am ? Placenta delivered
? 8:30am ? Had very sore collar bones (due to the pressure on my diaphragm, I was told), had gone a dreadful shade of red and a terrible case of the shakes. Hearing the anaesthetist discussing it with Dazz and saying ?This is not normal? was not very comforting!
    ? 8:50am-ish ? Shakes finally stopped. Phew.

Our beautiful girl was 8lb 10 and a half oz (3.092kg)
    56cm long
    and 41weeks

I had cracked nipples from about day 3-6, but managed to express and bottle feed till they repared, and she is well and truely back on the breast now, except for when I manage to convince my DH to feed her EBM at her midnight feed so I can get a little more sleep.

I am terribly sleep deprived. Lily wakes every 3-4 hours at night (which is good), but I am used to 9+ hours sleep a night, so I am not coping really well. I try to get a nap in the day, but she won't sleep for more than about 10-15mins between her first feed of the day (6-7am) until about 11am or 12pm. So just today I have decided that I won't even bother trying to get her to sleep (or me) in that morning session. That is going to be our awake time and we will nap together around lunch time!

Looking forward to participating in this journey with you all!

Joey - That synto is nasty stuff hey. I was only on it for 2.5 hours but the ctx came thick and fast on it!!

Leah is doing really well. She had a health check last Tuesday that said that she had lost too much weight, so I was told to feed constantly, and express after each feed to build my supply. This Tuesday she had another weighin and she had gained 440g!!! She is now over birth weight and a little piggy, when she is awake she is eating. I have to weigh her again next Tuesday and the Nurse said she should gain between 150 and 200g. She is getting some fat on her legs now so we should be able to get back into the cloth nappies soon, we had too big a gap between her legs and the nappies so she was leaking. She is still in 00000 but will be in 0000 by the end of the week I think.

Sarah loves sitting on the couch holding her. She would do it all day if we let her!! Em just likes touching her feet, which is funny when her feet are nowhere near the feet in her clothes

    Hi
I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy Prestyn on 2/6/09. A smooth 4 hour labour, was a great relief after a very uncomfortable & very long pregnancy!
I'm not sure how to get a new ticker thingy, it's been 9 months since I did the last one!
Hope everyone is well and getting enough rest!

    Hi Everyone

I thought I would join this thread even though Pia was born on 13/5, she was due on 15/6. All of her development milestones are based on her due date, not her actual birth date. Hopefully she will be going through all the baby stages at the same time as your beautiful bubs

At 7 weeks old, she has just made it over the 3Kg this week, and is still fitting into most of her 00000 outfits! And to think that I only bought 000 and larger.

Welcome to all the newbies who have joined the group...so many beautiful babies.

Natalya had her 2 week checkup yesterday with the MCN and it is inevitable by the looks of it that she is going to be a chubber bubba like her big sister was - she put on just over 700 grams in under 2 weeks! And is now just over 4 kilos. The MCN was asking me what I have in my milk! The truth is she is just a gobbleguts.

Her brother and sister still cant get enough of her, poor thing is going to be spoilt with love which isnt a bad thing I suppose.

Great to hear everyone is going well and welcome to those who've just joined the thread...

And a big hello to joey who I remember from the ttcaml thread So glad to see everything has gone so well for you - congrats on the birth of Lily. She's absolutely gorgeous!!

Lila and I are doing well - still having 2 or 3 feeds o/night but the last couple of nights she has been settling well after each feed meaning I can pass out as soon as she is back in her bassinette (thank goodness). I can't tell if she's gained weight since the check up but she's definitely grown longer - now too long for her 0000 jumpsuits and can't stretch her legs when she's wearing them.

Jenushka - How cool that we're in the same thread again!! And our bubba's are one day apart. Good to see your little one is gaining weight.

Ang - Hope your bubba soon discoveres the difference between night and day! A globber guts is good!

Alloy - Great to hear that your bubbas are healthy and strong. They will be home with you in no time I am sure.

Monique - Congrats. Where in Brisbane are you? We have a few mums / preg ladies who meet up every now and again. We are on the northside. We would love you to join us.

Lolly - I had the same feeding probs as you. Expressing is a great idea. It saved me. It took about 2-3 days before I started feeding again and within a week they were brand new and you would never have known. Hope they come good soon.

Alioops - Good to hear your bubba is gaining weight. Well done.

Kylie - Well done. I am so jealous to hear your birth story!! If you just click on your ticker it will take you to the web site where you made it and then you just find the birth ones instead of pregnancy ones and put in the info and then copy the link that they give you and then go into your profile and click on signature and alter the one from your original. Hope that makes sense - a little sleep deprived on this end! As we all are I am sure!

Eliskirsty - welcome. I had the opposite problem to you. My bubba wouldn't fit into the 0000 that I bought, she was straight into 000!

AFM - Lily went 5 hours between feeds, then 4, then 4 last night. So lets hope that she keeps that up. If we can time her going to bed with me that would be great, but doesn't happen. So last night I was woken at 10, 2 and 6. Then DH took her so I had another one and a half hours kip this morning. She usually goes back to sleep within an hour of waking at night, so that's nice. I am going to bed at 7.30-8.00pm-ish, so I can't figure out why I am tired, cause from 7.30pm to 6.00am is 10 and a half hours, less the 2 and a half hours she was awake, gives me 8 hours sleep ??? Sure, I'm used to getting 9 or 10, but that should do me, surely?!? Perhaps it will just take some time to adjust.

As for day time sleeps, she hardly sleeps at all. And I have figured that our little princess doesn't go to sleep when being cuddled most of the time, so I have to put her down and let her cry herself to sleep for anywhere up to 8 minutes. I feel really bad doing that, but she won't sleep any other way. Or if she falls asleep while feeding or being cuddled, and then I put her in her basinett, she is awake within 20 mins (but usually 5 or 10 mins). So I just thought I'd add that in case anyone else was having the same problems - and my Lily still loves me even though I am a horrible person to let such a young baby cry herself to sleep (and she will also put herself back to sleep by doing it this way too). Something you're not supposed to do with them till they're about 4 months old. Oh well, they're all different I guess.

Take care all and don't forget to have a nana nap to keep yourself sane!!

    xx

    Joey

Hi Joey, I am in Bayside region of Southside Brisbane

I can't believe that most of our bubs are already nearing the 1month mark (if not just over!)

Sadly we are no longer BF'ing, it seems my milk has found somewhere else to go. Never mind, Miss C has taken nicely to the bottle & seems more content now between feeds, which gives me more time to do things & spend time with her older siblings.

We got our first bout of proper smiles this morning while laying in bed! I sent a text to DP to announce the proud moment, only to be told promptly "I got a smile last night" LOL.. It's funny that he didn't mention it to me then but anyway, I won't "rain on his parade" LOL
So far Miss C is sleeping 6 hours through the night & is feeding every 3-4hrs during the day.
