Hi Joey, I am in Bayside region of Southside Brisbane

I can't believe that most of our bubs are already nearing the 1month mark (if not just over!)

Sadly we are no longer BF'ing, it seems my milk has found somewhere else to go. Never mind, Miss C has taken nicely to the bottle & seems more content now between feeds, which gives me more time to do things & spend time with her older siblings.

We got our first bout of proper smiles this morning while laying in bed! I sent a text to DP to announce the proud moment, only to be told promptly "I got a smile last night" LOL.. It's funny that he didn't mention it to me then but anyway, I won't "rain on his parade" LOL
So far Miss C is sleeping 6 hours through the night & is feeding every 3-4hrs during the day.

I can' beleive your buba is sleeping 6 hours at night. You suck!! LOL :P That's great though. No worries about BFing, it's good that you have more time between feeds. I know the month has just flown!! Keep an eye on the meet up section and you're welcome to join us if you ever feel like driving out this way.

So you want me to get my Miss C to send your Miss L some "sleep for 6hrs through the night" vibes? LOL
Will keep my eyes peeled for sure Thanks!

ha! you wouldn't beleive it... she slept last night from 5.45pm till 12.15am - 6.5hours!! i had her in her own room forthe first time last night too, so perhaps that made a difference. it meant that i didn't hear her unless she was crying, so perhaps she woke a couple of times and went back to sleep, where normally i would have gotten up to feed her. but we did also have a full on day out and about yesterday, so maybe i just wore her out. let's see how she goes tonight?? Ask miss c to send over the sleeping vibes though, just in case.

Monique - I'll take some of those vibes too!! The last few days Lila has done a 5 and a bit hour stretch but sadly it's been more like 4pm - 9.30pm. If we could just push it back a liiittle bit further. Lucky you though - enjoy!

joey - hope Lily had a good night last night and you are slowly adjusting to lack of sleep. I know when you add up the hours it can sometimes equal a fairly good night's sleep but getting woken through the night means you're not getting all of the deep sleep you need. That's my theory anyway

quick afm - got a great big gummy smile from Lila while I was bathing her on Sunday night and only a couple of fleeting ones since then - meanwhile i'm looking like the biggest lunatic constantly laughing and smiling at her to try to get her to do it again!!! Popped her on the scales at the chemist yesterday and she is now 4.01kg (her birth weight was 3.25kg). Happy with that

    Hi to all

jenushka - great weight gain. You sure you're not popping her a few tim tams??

I think your sleep idea makes sense. Just posted about my night last night, you must have been posting at the same time!! Let's hope tonight is the same

I have had a few little smiles, and the best thing ... a "Goo". It was so cute!!

hehe - maybe she's getting a few tim tams via mummy! I'm definitely making up for having gest diabetes and losing 5kg in the last 2 months of my pg. Need to start behaving myself soon - don't want to see the scales creeping back up again. Thinking of getting a wii fit actually - anyone got one? Are they good?

Fingers crossed for you tonight - once lily has the sleep thing sorted, then she can come and talk Lila through it all Maybe the key is putting them in their own room? I've been thinking about putting Lila into her grobag soon, which doesn't fit in the bassinette anyway...

    oops, better go - we've just had a poo-splosion...

    Baby born on 4th June

    Hi

Just thought I'd add my two bits as well. I had a little girl on 4th June also. 3.18kg's 48.5cms, via elective C-Section (she was a breech baby, stuck right up under my ribs).

Interested to know how your babies are progressing, how sleep is going and feeding etc.

I didn't have a chance to join any mothers groups, so would be interested in keeping in touch with other Mums who have babies around same age...

Hello and welcome Jo! Congrats on the birth of your little Erika - she and my Lila share the same birthday Hope everything is going well for you...

Been ages since I've posted - hopefully there is still someone around?!

Update on us - Lila is 12 weeks old now and still going really well. I had a hair appt last weekend (feels so nice to be refreshed!) and dh was going to give her a one-off bottle of formula but she wouldn't have a bar of it. Luckily I'd bought a pump the day before and had a little bit of EBM for him to offer her, which she guzzled happily so it's obviously not the bottle that's the issue, but what goes in it! I've been expressing once a day to build up a bit of a supply to give myself the odd bit of freedom, and also plan on giving her EBM when I have to go back to work (probably March-ish) so it's good to get it into the routine.

She is down to 6 feeds a day, sometimes 7, and has done a few 9.5hr stretches overnight but mostly her big stretch is 6-8 hrs. Still hanging onto one feed between 3-4.30am then 7.30-8am then a big sleep which is great to let me get ds organised for the day. Aside from witching hour every evening she is still a star at self-settling - we're very very very lucky

She's still a petite bundle, has only just reached 5.1kg but is going to be a tall girl we think - already 60cm.

Otherwise just chugging along enjoying my time with my kids and have started ds back at swimming lessons. Now he's 3, I don't have to get in the pool with him which is GREAT, but it does feel really good to be getting back into the swing of things

lolly - we're using disposable nappies. Love the look of the MCN though, wish I'd known about them when ds was a bub so I could have built up a collection then! Re how long between kids - it's around this time when things start to settle down a tiny bit that you can even start contemplating another bub! so I can see where you're coming from.... I was enjoying ds so much as he went from bub to toddler that I wasn't in a huge rush ... originally we started trying again when ds was about 18 months and have now (sadly after going through 2 m/c) ended up with a 3 yr 2 mth age gap which is working really well for us. There is adv and disadv for every kind of age gap though - GL with whatever you decide. Great that you are feeling so positive about being a mummy

Can't wait to hear everyone's updates - I expect them all to come flooding in now (lol!)

Hugs to you and your bubba's

    xx

Hi all!!! Sorry I haven't been on, I have been too preoccupied with finalising everything for my wedding in 4 weeks time
Lachlan is plodding along nicely, he'll be 12 weeks on Monday. He now weighs 6.5kgs and is 64cm long - I definitely think he's going to take after Daddy (who is 6"9). He is sleeping on average 8.5hrs every night, and has had a couple of 11hr nights also (which of course frightened me, and I woke up twice and tickled his nose to make him wriggle so I knew he was OK!) He's having 6 x 190ml bottles every day, and also a 60ml bottle of water most afternoons. The main issue I'm having at the moment is addressing his flat spot on the back of his head, I'm trying desperately to give him as much tummy time as possible and get him used to sleeping on his side, fingers crossed
Sorry if I go AWOL again, but it's getting to the business end of preparations now, hope you and your bubs are all well
