Tarkine - I am so envious of your 4 hours

I took DD1 to ballet, the Miss J and I went swimming and then in the afternoon we had playgroup so it has been non-stop action today! I am stuffed - bedtime soon I think. Miss J has gone down but it took an hour and some panadol as she was screaming like she was in pain. Could she be getting MORE teeth?

Hi everyone, just popping in to say hi! Our open for inspections start next week so I'm on an endless round of housework - yuck! Also trying to bang out my book editing by the end of the month. Don't think it's going to happen somehow. Luckily Posy is being an absolute angel. I feel bad when I'm not giving her all my attention when she's awake but it's just impossible.

MM - you're disciplined. Well done on getting that 45 mins of exercise in.

Nai - does Miss J enjoy swimming?

AJP - Wow on the netball! I'm impressed. Are you able to add me and Theodora Posy to the list. She was born on 26 Feb at 8:57, weighing 8 pounds

Nice AV Pinny!! Well done on the kids doing well.

Mhami - I totally do not envy you. I hated keeping the house spotless.

AJP - Hope you had fun at netball. I too am going to start playing netball in 2 weeks time. I haven't played in 12 years. I used to be really good, but 2 knee reco's later I gave up. Now I have been asked to play, and with much trepidation I have said yes.

I had a "moment" in the middle of the night last night. E woke at 4am for a feed, so I fed her, and was sitting up with her on my chest to burp, and she nuzzled right into my shoulder, gave a little sigh and went to sleep, and I started thinking "this is where she belongs. She is MY beautiful little girl."

Since the rota vax, E has been waking around 1am ish with a pooey nappy. She hasn't done that since about 4 weeks old. I hope it stops soon.

Ok gotta go do some housework while E is asleep and J is at swimming lessons with DH. THen off to the gym when they get home.

    Hi all,

Sorry for my absence again. Since our attempted dummy free day on Monday, we have been out and about every day since then and Isabel's sleeps have been pretty pooey during the day.

Tuesday I took her to the MCHN for weigh in - she's dropped back to the 80th percentile for weight, has anyone else noticed a drop in weight since starting solids??

Then we went to the GP to get her skin sorted - she has a few spots of eczema so we're onto some cortisone cream and dropped back to baths every other day and no soap. We're off to Cairs on Sunday (WOOOOO) so I'm hoping the warm weather helps clear it up.

Then we had MG, she had two catnaps there (she is "the baby that sleeps" at MG), all the other mums feel like they don't really know her as she is really quiet and reserved, possibly because she's the youngest! Levi loves her though, LOL. He watches her with great interest... she ignores him most the time

Wed had to go shopping for bridesmaid shoes and she was an absolute grump all day. I think because she was working out a poo and also I forgot to pack Farex and she was hungry, so I was b/feeding every two hours!

Today she was much better - more shopping with my mum and she was an angel all day. She even did a big 1.5hr sleep in the morning at home before I left.

I think my new plan is to give her the dummy during the day, she seems to sleep ok with it. At night we have been settling with dummy at 7pm bedtime, then she drops it and we settle without at the 11pm feed, she has been sleeping for 3-4hrs without dummy and without waking til her next feed at 3am, then going back to sleep and sleeping without waking and without dummy til some time between 6am and 8am.

So that is much much better than hourly or two-hourly wakeups.

Feels like we are getting somewhere.

Hugs to all, I have caught up on posts but think this is long enough without adding personals... will come back in a bit and try and catch up, before we go away anyway!

    xxx

OP- Yeah you gotta do what works for you, sounds like you're onto it if she is sleeping better, we haven't started solids yet so can't answer there but their weight will always go up and down a bit depending on growth spurts.

Meg- Those moments are great and we need them to remind ourselves when they are having bad moments.

mhami- good luck with it all, what a pita having to keep it neat and tidy our place stays tidy for all of 5 minutes.

Nai- how is she today? Any more teeth?

Emily's day sleeps seem to be getting less and less each day. Not sure whats up but she isn't having a good week, won't sleep longer than 30mins and not wanting to settle.

OP - solids already!? wow.. I'll have to try Alex on them.. when I get myself organised enough.. I used to be really uber organised.. now I'm lucky if I get Alex bathed - how tragic is that!!

Shell - how is Emily's night time sleeping going?

Nai - I can't believe bubs has teeth already! I talk to Alex about it, and tell him that Miss J has teeth, and she's so close in birthdays, but nothing happens - me thinking it is because he's a boy and just being awkward

op their weight starts to plateau around this age, weight increases get smaller (except my boofa this month) i wouldnt worry as long as she has milk before solids!!
have fun in cairns!! im jealous!!

shell millie has had a few days of 30 mins sleeps, drove me bonkers!

tarkine i love the gummy smiles! its the only time in their lives that its cute!

i just played netball, sore already!
