    Nappy fabric question??

So, I'm about to order a night nappy to try out and I'm confused!!!!!!! I don't know what the fabrics are and if they make a difference.

So, I can get a minkee one (know what that is) or Malden Mills. No idea what Malden Mills is, lol. And what sort of difference will it make to a night nappy?

For 'extra hidden wet zone fabric' I can choose: Malden Mills 200wt fleece, Malden Mills windbloc, or windpro ??????? What on earth does all that mean???? LOL

And should I get front or side snapping?? I don't have any side snapping nappies yet.

    Too many decisions!!!!!!!!!

200wt is the thickness of the microfleece inside the nappy.
Not sure about windbloc or windpro

Malden Mills are the manufacturers of high tec polar fleece. Windbloc and windpro are the commercial names (if you go into an outdoor clothing store check the labels of the exxy fleece jumpers and it will be called that). It's been a while since I've thought about the different types but I think 200 weight is best for day. I think it would be windpro that would be the best for nights. Check and see if it says 300 weight because it is definitely that weight.
Chocolatecatty would know for sure but not sure if she comes here much anymore.

Minky would need to be put with PUL or fleece so that is something to consider.

I think Malden Mills is the brand.

Yup the good ones are made with windpro (my KK is and I'm pretty sure Snoozys have it in their wet zone too)

As for front snapping and side snapping - go with what day nappy suits your kids best. If they suit front snapping - get those. I wouldn't spend a LOT of money on a side snapping one (ie a night nappy) if you didn't have any and weren't sure that it suited your bub.

I luuuurve side snapping nappies - but don't have any in my night nappies unfortunately - most of mine are velcro

Ok so the windbloc is more expensive than the windpro, so it's better?
The minkee ones have a hidden layer of malden mills aswell so I guess the minkee is just to look pretty? Will it be better without it? Less bulky?

I don't have any side snapping ones yet, I want to try them but maybe I shouldn't on an expensive night nappy, hmm... Or maybe I should just get velcro. This is really too much for my little brain to handle, pmsl.

One more question oh wise ones!
What's better for a daytime nappy, PUL or Malden Mills?? Why would you choose one over the other??

PUL would be a cheaper option I would imagine. the Malden Mills ones are typically for nights.

MM is a lot more breathable and would have a longer life span. PUL will eventually deteriorate. You may need to replace the elastic eventually but mm will outlast PUL if you're planning on using them for several babies.

I really do love MM for nappies. Honeyboys and Auriels I have are favourites and I've also made several for Caleb myself from it

Thanks guys!! I couldn't decide on what colours I wanted for a day one, lol, so I just ordered a night nappy (genesa forge).
