We use a lot of those packet pasta & sauce side dishes
I was wondering if anyone had any recipes so I can save a bit of money. Ultimately I would like to do the same sort of thing. Have all the dry ingredients in zip-lock bags then when I want them add the liquid ingredients & stick it in the microwave for 10mins
The ones we usually have are
Mild Chicken Curry
Alfredo
hun im actually just learning this one my sil tought me and its so easy and cheap feeds a heap of us lol.
1 x packet of fettucinne ( lol spelling )
bunck of shallots
small hand full diced bacon
1 x large thickend cream
1x tin homebrand mushrooms in butter sauce
and 1 x glass bottle of continental ? creamy pasta sauce
PREP..
cook your pasta
cook every thing else in 1 sausepan
when your pasta is cooked add it to your sauce mixture.
i hope ive made some sence hun and you will find thats sauce were the bolognaise sauces are at the shops its very yummy and goes a long way.
not really sure if ive helped but ive got 4 girls and a husband and we get leftovers from this so you could freeze this also
OK I have been experimenting & this is what I have come up with for chicken curry pasta & sauce side dish
In a zip-lock bag:
1-1 1/2 cups small/quick cooking pasta (I used pasta pronto, 3 mins to cook normally)
1 tsp curry powder
1 tbsp corn flour
1 tsp chicken stock
dash of salt & pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp tumeric (to make it yellow)
Make sure there's no lumps in the powders/flours
Then when you are ready to cook, put in a microwave safe bowl & add
1 tbsp marg or butter
1/2 cup milk
1 1/4 cup boiling/hot water
Microwave 6-8 mins depending on mircowave & stir 3-4 times during cooking
You are awesome great job I am going to try that one out, thanks so much. My favourite one is the savoury tomato and onion I have to try and fugure that one out.
