I have to get our credit history reports done to attach to our rental applications in tassie - its been a while since I've rented, and never had to do this before. The chick at the real estate gave me an address, but I can't find what is supposed to be like a search or whatever to give me the damn report, just jumps from advertising screen to advertising screen.
What does everyone else use when they have to do it? And free ones would be best
You think since we've been in our own home for 3.5 years that we are actually managing to make the payments on the mortgage since the bank hasn't foreclosed on us or anything
*sigh*
Why does everything have to be so difficult.
ETA - I contacted the receptionist again - she gave me the CORRECT link this time - and I checked it out - $30!!!! EACH REPORT!!! so that's $60 we have to spend - FOR PUTTING IN AN APPLICATION!!!!!!!
F**k that man. Thats ridiculous.

Why won't your mortgage history suffice???? Surely regular repayments at the same rate (but probably higher ) would be enough to show you have a regular repayment history
You would think it would. But seriously - this is for RENTING. I'm not applying for a frigging loan here...
Why make it so hard for people wanting to rent? Surely this will just drive people out onto the streets. I know I have a good bloody credit history and thats WHY we got given enough money to BUY A DAMN HOUSE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!
Yeah it does suck arse but the laws change from state to state in regards to rentals and applications!! My mum is a property manager and she said Tassie is the hardest to rent in cause of the extra documents that you do have to supply just to put in a application.
I don't know - do you need to submit it with your application or will they take your application without it if you are waiting for it? We need to secure a rental pretty much straight away, we move in 3 weeks time.
hmm, dunno about that one. I would imagine that they want it with the rest of the stuff but you can only ask. That sucks because you could've organised it earlier if you'd known about it.
Yeah I've found that out - just concerned that the real estate will give the property to someone else who has the info there - and don't really want to pay $60 to get it asap. DH is going to go OFF when he finds out.
wow never heard of having to get your own credit history before... i mean in all the yrs we rented in nsw we just had to prove I.D and they can look it up... then when we came down to VIC we were suprised and put out by having to photocopy our own I.D to give to the rental agencies??!! So the whole getting your own credit history report papers is even more absurd to me!
Gl with the move to tassie!!!
