Bahh what a tosser. Should have gotten me to pick it up for you and I would have sent it for what it really cost to send it.
Hope he gets his balls bitten for that one!
I bought a King sized doona cover set BN last week for a bargain. Bidding started at 99c so I bid what I thought was fair...psotage was get ready...$25 from Tassie.
Anyway cut a long story short...got it yesterday and it was sent in a 3kg express bag. that was it.
I emailed the seller that although I was happy with the product I think that his postage chargers were not called for....I also told him I run a business and said I wouldnt have one if I ran it the way he ran his.
He told me that his postage chargers were that price because he loses out if the bids are so low on his products....and that the $25 was to cover that plus the 4 -6 hours packaging his goods for postage everyday as he need's to make a wage out of it AND to pay for the GST that he has to pay on ebay. He then said if I didnt like the prodcut to send it back and he'll reemberse me for the item but NOT THE POSTAGE!!!! WTF??!!!!
stupid stupid man.....I copied it and sent it to ebay's reporting centre and have just recieved an email back saying that they are going to investigate the seller as postage and handling costs are just that. They also thanked me for notifying them but cant promise that they will be able to contact me of the out come but things will defently be done.
Can you believe the ball's of the man???

It's a common thing on ebay unfortunately. Good on you for reporting it
argh!!! what the!!???
I have noticed (and almost been caught out) by LOW 99c starting prices but then realised the postage is $20+... they are not allowed to do that i think its in the terms and conditions when you sign up![]()
yep...thats right babe...its in the terms and conditions but the **** emailing me to say he needed it to make up for his lose...****HEAD
Mel...it was $15 pick up...can you believe that???
I hope you get somewhere with it Maz. Overpriced postage on ebay is my pet peeve!
what a ****er!!!! he shouldnt start it at 99c if he doesnt wanna lose out!! GRRR
Yes, so commonI understand a little bit of overhead, but seriously? An 3kg express bag is only like $11??? Sheesh!
OMG $15 pickup, that is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
Thats madness! Glad you reported it Maz!
You can also reflect this in the star system when giving feedback. I have heard that system changes are going to see sellers screwed over if they're not averaging 3.5 stars, so obviously make sure you give him one star for everything - especially the postage one!
It is quite common to jack up the postage, especially on international items. It lowers the fee that sellers pay to ebay, beause it's a percentage of what's bid. In second hand bicycle part circles it is completely accepted that that's just what you do.
They had a fee for pickup?!?!?! Thats just outrageous!!! Should have got me to pick it up and I would have told him exactly where he should SHOVE his $15 pick up fee.
How ridiculous.
I wanted to leave nuetral feedback but I have to wait 7 days after purchase to do so...hmmmm
He will be getting a big fat 0 star for postage from me for sure and maybe another one for his sneaky attitude
That really gets my goat - I hate people doing that but I am so glad the knob head wrote the email to you - shows just how bright he is!!
Hey Maz when you do get a chance to leave feedback be sure to comment about the excessive postal fees so that people can read your experience. This is how I choose between sellers!!
How do you know what's reasonable postage for some things? I just bought something fairly bulky (but light) from Hong Kong for 99c... postage was $59 - I didn't think to question it but now I'm wondering...
It still worked out to be a reasonable price but if they're doing something dodgy...
Likewise! I am a frequent ebayer and it is one thing to overestimate but another to charge PACKING FEES! If he is that worried about losing out she should set a low bid limit like everyone else! I have had people overestimate postage before and send me change in the package but to outright charge that postage and then a "wage" is disgusting!
ugh what a load of crud! good on you Maz for takign it further.
i planned to bid on a brand name t-shirt once, for 99c, the postage was $15 for one t-shirt. i sent a message and asked why it was so much, and if i won 5 t-shirts for 99c, i might pay 15, but not for one. she replied and said 'there are other costs involved other than just the postage envelope...' i said, well good luck trying to sell any products, and i won be bidding on any of her items EVER.
how sneaky.
I sure didand guess what. I got an email not through ebay but my inbox about how upset they were that I was upset and taht her husband explained everything to me.
I emailed back and said
PLease dont email me anymore. this is harrassment and to think you call yourself god given people!!!
that was a week ago and yesterday, through the ebay message system I get a message from them

I know this is a bold request but it can be worthwhile for both of us.
Please let us know your thoughts.
