have you read the pinky mckay book? cos if you liked it, she's doing some 2 hour talks about baby sleep next month - i think there are 3 locations - carnegie, east melb & one other that i've forgotten. i was thinking about going along to one of them, although i'm not sure how much more it covers than the book.

Hey hun, have you thought about contacting Pinky Mckay? She does consults, and isn't too far from you!

olive - pinky has some info on prices on her website. obviously, one-on-one consults are more expensive, but she also does phone consultations which are a bit cheaper and are charged by either the half hour or hour. i'm not sure whether i can link to her site? but it's one of the top search listings if you put her name in google

I actually went to South EasternPrivate Hospital & they used not totally gentle parenting, but you listened to the 'cry' of the bubs to determine what you did ie: went in & patted them, picked them up etc... (this was when DD was 10 mo & she is now 25 mths old, so could be different now?) but ultimately if you were not comfortable of unhappy with what they were advising to do, you could refuse. It is actually a 5 day stay. They also offered counselling, talked about your family history etc...

My DH, DS and I are actually going along to Pinky's seminar this Wednesday so I'm hoping it will be really good. She was one of the speakers at our birth class and was wonderful. I feel confident asking her questions because I know that she believes in a parenting style similar to what we are doing

I think that maybe trying to organise a phone consult with her might be a great idea.
