Getting rid of the baby bump leftovers!

Ok so it's been 6 months since DD was born and I haven't done anything about trying to shift the weight I gained, which was probably about 10-15kgs. I look horrible (or at least I think I do), I hate looking at myself in the mirror, boob area is passable, but the tummy is definitely a no-go area and my thighs are quite huge... I was always fairly slim and never had to worry about what I ate and I think that is what I'm struggling with the most. I haven't worried too much about trying to get rid of it before now, but I am starting to get sick of myself and DF keeps asking/joking about my "jelly belly" and isn't it time to do something about it if I hate it so much.

I just can't find the time to exercise properly...I try and go for at least an hour's walk with the dog and DD in the pram every day, somedays we might not make it at all though just due to timing/other things I have to do/the heat. I usually spend at least 10 mins or so dancing around the loungeroom with DD as she loves music/dancing!

I have been recording some of the fitness programs off Austar but just dont have the time during the day to work out, I managed about 10mins of a step class today but then DD woke up, same as the other day I did about 20 mins of a dance class but she woke up...There are so many other things that I need to get done when she is asleep that I can't do/are too hard to do when she is awake so I tend to prioritise them more than exercising.

How do you find the time to get in a good workout with a baby? Late afternoon/evening isn't suitable...the crazy dinner/bath/bed routine and I'm just too tired by the end of the day. I have said to DF about entertaining DD while I do some exercise but that has been a dead end...he seems to think I can just pull a spare half hour out of my bum...or forget about chores for half an hour but if I don't do them no one else will.

Guess I'm just after some ideas/tips on how I can start to shift this weight and how to find the time to exercise properly! I know that was long..thanks for reading

You sound like you do enough...i.e the hours walk every day ....that is such an effort for anyone with a child....i think your doing more than what most mothers would do...including me !!!
Ive always found b/f seems to get rid of the baby fat, but those wobbly jelly bits i find doing 10 mins of sit ups at night before i go to bed helped - i havent done that with this baby (7 months), and TBH im kinda comfortable with my body ATM. But when i did have DD#1, i remember to tone my belly a bit, i used to watch tele lying on the floor, and did 10 sit ups every night. I could realllly notice the difference.

Also, remember, bubs is only 6 mths old....you're body has gone thru a lot to produce this little thing...it may just take a little longer than you anticipated....GL !!!YOu sound pretty motivated....

Its funny you should post this cause I was saying same thing about a week ago.
Your walk is fantastic, an hour a day is great start even if thats all you get done.
I have decided stuff cleaning, when DD2 goes down for her morn nap I get out the wii fit and do that. DD1 copies me, its cute.
Also little things, take stairs if you can (I know you cant with pram!)
Park a distance away from where you're going and walk,
Stick with your walk and if you can when she is asleep do what you can, all the little 10mins you do here and there add up.

It sounds like you are doing heaps of exercise, walking with the pram is great resistance and burns a lot of calories. I did the gym etc for the first 6 months and nothing happened and then around 6 or 7 months after my DD was born it just started to fall off through walking and breastfeedng. The only suggestion I have is try to hold your tummy in while you walk, it strengthens the core. But you are doing everything right, it won't happen over night but it will happen x

Thanks ladies I rarely drive anywhere now, as our house is so close to all the shops/anywhere I need to go, so I do walk a fair bit. I guess it's just the little things I forget to do all the time, like holding my tummy in, and sit ups...I haven't done sit ups for a while but I know with the pelvic floor exercises I was supposed to do after DD was born I only remembered to do them once in a blue moon..lol. Maybe I should stick a little note on the pram reminding me to hold my tummy in, and one on my pillow reminding me to do sit ups
