Thumbs down I just left neg feedback - Ebay

In all my years of ebaying I have only ever needed to leave neutral feedback but today for the first time ever I have left neg feedback.

I was bidding on and won a gorgeous pumkin patch hoodie and jeans set but as there was no postage price I emailed the seller requesting a total. I have emailed and emailed since the day the transaction ended (8th) but had no response what so ever.

I am so diappointed, there is nothing in their listing to say that they are away etc so out of sheer frustration I have done it.

Perhaps it may seem a bit harsh but all it takes is a simple email. I even offered to not buy the item if it didn't make what they wanted in case they didn't want to sell it anymore.

It sucks big time and I feel awful but seriously I am sick of Ebays emails telling me I need to pay for this item.

I really hate having to do it too and luckily I have only had to do it twice.

Gosh it really does leave a bad taste in your mouth doesn't it! I left neutral feedback once when I had all rights to leave negative... Then they left 'me' negative feedback I was the one who ended up out of pocket with no product because they said they had posted it but I never received it They offered no appologies and didn't care less that I did not get anything in the mail claiming they can not control Australia Post... Well I had a post box at the time and I accept that Australia Post is run by humans and I gave the ebay seller the benefit of the doubt that Australia Post may have 'lost' the item so I gave them neutral feedback... I wasn't expecting negative feedback from them just because I told them that I hadn't received anything in the mail!

Darn it that sucks! But better to warn other buyers so good on ya!!

Cherish, I thought as a seller you cannot leave negative feedback to buyers anymore? Unless they have changed that rule again!

I left negative feedback a couple of days ago too for someone. I won a tupperware picnic set and paid for it and postage straight away and then seller said she didn't advertise postage - which she did - and then completely stopped communicating with me for two weeks. Thankfully I paid paypal and got my money back. I opened a paypal case which took her a week and a half to respond to and in the end got an email from her saying she was refunding my money ... and that was it. I sent her an email back saying that I was incredibly unimpressed with her as a seller and would be leaving negative feedback as well as reporting her to ebay so that other people are warned. She wrote back and told me nothing like this has ever happened to her before.

Anyway, I left negative feedback and noticed a couple of days later so had another buyer so it didn't make me feel so bad about it because she obviously wasn't doing the right thing. I am in the process of reporting her to ebay.

It doesn't feel good and I understand why it isn't nice, but other buyers need to know, especially since lots of them request direct bank transfers. In my case this woman had $140 of my money for nearly 3 weeks. I didn't know whether to bid on another item or to wait and so I have missed a few opportunities.

Good on you for leaving negative feedback. I think it takes courage to do it.

One of my 1st purchases on Ebay a few years ago was a ring that was described as ' genuine vintage of the 1950's '

... when i received the parcel the ring wasn't even protected in any padding so therefore a few pearls snapped off the ring in postal transit ... so i contacted the Seller asking what to do from here and they wanted me to post it back (at my cost$ ) ... in which they sent ' another ring back ' which didn't make sense if it were vintage and the ring this time arrived in a tiny bit of bubble-wrap but thankfully not damaged ... then a few days later i noticed the Seller selling the same ring again ... so was misleading in selling it, describing it as vintage when it wasn't ...

so i left my 1st NEGATIVE feedback and then the Seller left me negative feedback after, WTF i thought

... i contacted the Seller asking why did they do this and they said it was " Pay Back " ... how awful is that !! ... Cause they are a Seller doesn't mean they are always going to do the ' right thing ' !!

OMG Nikkie i had that EXACT thing happen to me ... it was by far the worst experience i had online shopping

I left a woman a neutral feedback as my won baby items stunk of smoke, covered in cat hair and were filthy (i mentioned this in her feedback too) ... she came back & said she is an asthmatic and doesn't own an animal ... so not long later i had a buyer win some items of mine & not pay, they keep playing mind games for ages saying they were paying and the sure sign was when they mentioned if they could ' pick up ' from my home when clearly they lived in WA. Then i went through their history, with their feedback score being low and they both lived in the same hidden away town on the other side of the country in WA. Geez there are some sicko's out there in the world !!

(whoops so sorry my hijacking too )

If you have that in writing, can't you report that to ebay because I am sure it would violate some policy. Ebay can revoke their selling rights.

A bit of an alternative view - perhaps something has happened to the seller?

I was selling some things on ebay about a month ago and miscarried. All transactions were posted but I had one email from a buyer where they complained that a "small" was actually a 6 rather than an 8 (apparently in tiny-clothing land, 6 is an XS, 8 is a S - heck I have never been smaller than a 14 so everything below a 10 is a small to me). Turns out they wanted a XS, so the top was bigger than they expected.

I knew I had the email, but couldn't bring myself to log in to ebay and deal with it and other stuff, like leaving feedback, because I had just miscarried. In fact I wasn't up to logging on to ebay for about a month, I just was too over everything for that time in my life. But I figured no one is really hurt, and really, I couldn't give a stuff about negative feedback in the grand scheme of my life at that time (as it turns out the woman who bought the top left positive feedback anyway).

So maybe think of it this way - you haven't been ripped off, but rather lost the opportunity to buy something. Maybe the person who isn't replying has other stuff going on in their life. Sure maybe they are lazy, but maybe its something else.

    Just a thought

I left bad feedback in December, i bought a rice cooker in October and emailed several times as to where & when i could pick it up, so by December id had enough & left bad feedback...i got an email not long ago complaining that i had left this person bad feedback...even tho the auction ended 3 months prior and this was the first contact i was having with this person

I had a situation similar to RoryRory except that I was the buyer. I bought a wardrobe for DS's room on ebay and kept emailing the seller with no response. I even wrote in the final email that if there was no contact in the next couple of days I would leave negative feedback. Then I found somewhere on ebay that you could actually get the sellers contact details which included a contact telephone number. My DH rang them for me and the sellers husband answered the phone. Turned out that the womans brother had just died in a car accident. I felt terrible that I had been mean in the email. We told them not to worry about it, and worked out how to cancel the auction with them.

I bought W a video camera from o/s on ebay....the discription said it would be here in 15 days...BEAUTY in time for his birthday.......15 days came and went....20.....25...30...day 32 I reported through ebay that the item was never recieved and I had NEVER recieved an email from the seller.
The Seller is hounding me to take my action on ebay down as 'he did send it' and his paypal account has been frozen pending outcome.
I simply told him that maybe he should have emailed me back at least or emailed me to let me know the camera was sent...which he didnt like but yet again demanded that I take down my report.

    BUGGER OFF!!!!!!

This is the second time in a month that Ive been burnt like this.....first time was an over locker that still hasnt turned up...hmmmm but thank god for paypal is all I gotta say.

Rayray hon...totally understand when you dont want to get on due to what you went through and any seller/buyer would understand fully the reason why. Its those who do it to rip people off that need to have a 2x4 piece of wood clocked on their heads

Like Rory mentioned i do take into consideration something may have sadly happened to the Seller/Buyer ... for example last year i didn't receive a top i purchased off OZtion for my DD, then about 2mths later i got an email from the Seller madly apologising that she & her DD had been placed in a refuge and therefore she wasn't able to make contact let alone post the goods ... i think from some emails you can tell who is genuine or not, ... it's the Sellers who make threats that make my blood boil

Maybe I am being a bit harsh in saying this but I don't buy into the emails not being received thing. If I am selling something then I KNOW what I have on auction therefore I would be checking it to see whats happening.
As for something bad happening, well in this particular instance I have seen other people have received their items as I had been watching their feedback.
Should the seller contact me and let me know something had happened or they had somehow "forgotten" they had this item for sale then I will very happily retract my feedback.

I have left neutral feedback before when a doll I received had a broken arm as the seller had not packed it properly/protectively but she offered a refund and pay for the postage but MIL still wanted the doll and wanted to take it to a doll hospital.

I dunno maybe I expect too much

I've only given one negative, very recently.

I bought some jeans off ebay a month or three ago ... emailed to get her DD details, she gave them to me, I paid same day.

Item didn't arrive after a week ... two weeks ... three weeks ... either no response or "I've already sent it on X day". I opened an "item not recieved" ticket, she never replied. When I closed it from no action, she said it was because of the "floods". Which I looked up and found that the floods were real but happened about 2 weeks before I won the item, so she managed to list all these items for sale but couldn't post them? Riiiiight.

I left negative feedback when it hit 6 weeks since I paid. I wasn't the first - she had quite a few negatives, much the same.

She promptly opened an unpaid item case (despite saying she'd sent it several times - why would you do that if it wasn't paid for?) and I said I'd paid, on X day, to Y bank account, check your bank statements from 6 weeks ago dammit. She closed the unpaid item case with no strike against me.

Item arrived 3 days after the unpaid item case closed.

She could have just sent the damn thing the day my payment hit her account!
