Snap! I have a 9yr old brother as well.

Mine likes to play his DS *boring* That age they are into computers and gadgets.

For something creative, and if he likes cars, you could design a race track. If you have a big bit of paper or just tape lots of pieces of paper together and the two of you could design a new race track.

Does he have a scooter he can bring or a bike. You could go riding and take DD in the sling or pram.

i'll keep trying to think of things.

My nephew loves to play boardgames and doing big puzzles together with me when he comes over, it is a bit of interaction rather than playing computer games alone .

My nephew loves the computer, Wii and guitar.
I know if he comes here I can give him a guitar to muck around on and he will love it.

DF and I have been looking after DF's brother a bit lately, he's just turned 10. We sometimes take him to a movie, but he loves playing games; whether it's his ds or xbox or computer. Fun board games are great too Good luck.

Lego, boardgames like monopoly, books that are a bit rude or gross (remember Revolting Rhymes), Bakugon (a game that is with little robot things that fold into balls like transformers and played like marbles kind of) is big in my house ATM but it's expensive.
My mr 8.5 still likes to draw and make paper planes or draw his own comics etc.
