Question Escalating a Claim - Ebay Issue

Long story short I ordered 2 casting kits and box frames very early Jan from a seller. I paid extra to have one of the casting kits to be sent so I could start taking moulds with the frame to follow and the other one was to be sent all at once.

I had emailed the seller a few times with no response and decided to lodge a thing in the resolution centre. 4 days after I lodged it I got an email from the seller apologising and saying she had been very unwell and was in fact hospitalised. She offered a refund or to wait an additional week before posting the items.

Its been two weeks and I only have one more day left before I can escalate the claim through paypal.

    I am stuck

While I believe she may have been in hospital I wonder about the story as I have checked out her profile and there has been a lot of feedback from people commenting about the speedy service, how great the frames are so on so forth. All over the past month when she was "in hospital"

It makes me wonder how legitimate her story was - but why go to so much trouble for a false story ?????

So I still would like the frames etc BUT I only have a day left to escalate the claim to cover my butt in case she is not telling me the truth ...

    What should I do?????????????????????????

I would take it further - like you said you only have one day left and then the chance to do it is gone and she may be relying on that? Either way it will put a rocket up her bum to either make her refund you or send you the items.

I agree, definately need to escalate a claim as you will end up being out of pocket if you don't. You haven't done anything wrong and have been extremely patient, and it seems strange that others are receiving purchases during the time you haven't. Maybe send another email today saying that this is what you are going to do and see if they respond. Ebay will give you contact information, so maybe request that as well and give them a ring, as then they have to give you an excuse over the phone, which is a little harder than via email, etc.

    Goodluck.

I would escalate it too - if you don't escalate it you could lose your money and she may never send the items.

hun i had a similar thing happen with a seller - i got the "i was in hospital" story. i gave them the benefit of the doubt and lost my dollars. another tried the same thing, so i went looking - the times they claimed to be in hospital, items were ending and being sent out/collected - so it was a furphy. i decided not to play nice on that one. you have to cover your butt hun - if she sends it she sends it - but if it's ending the period in which to make a claim, you need to do it for your own cover

I agree with others do it as you will loose money otherwise.

    Good luck
