    A penis question

So today DS (2.5) pulled down his pants to sit on the potty and noticed his penis was hard and so he asked me "what's happened to my doodle?".

What do I do???? Do I say anything? Do I just ignore it?

DS still gets upset when it happens. Hes 4.
I tell him its normal and it happens sometimes. At the moment hes happy with that but it seems to scare him and has asks us to make it stop

I don't have a son but apparently that happens to allow it to grow and to stretch the foreskin (if not circumcised) so maybe I would say that its to help it grow. At 2.5 he probably wont be asking for much detail just a simple answer.

Just tell him it's something that a penis does, and it's normal. At this age, he doesn't need to know anymore than that.

Thanks. It caught me off guard lol. Next time I will just go with the 'it happens, it's normal' reply.

My DS1 told me that his doodie (what he calls his penis) grows bigger because he is in jocks. Hard to keep a straight face when he told me that.

I agree with the "it's normal, it happens" statement. Answer questions as they get asked is my motto (at the moment!).

First of all don't panic, or lie. Just be honest and explain it's natural and happens to all boys and not to worry about it. It's what we've told DS and he is happy with that.

My DS loves playing with his....and will randomly come out with "big doodle mummy" and is quite proud of it!

I have to do the "that's nice dear - but your doodle is private" so he doesn't come out with his big doodle comment every time it happens.

Brendan (3) has not even noticed it even does it, nor does he say anything about it... not that I would expect him to lol

I agree with the others, just tell him it's normal and thats something that happens to every little boy.
