Hi Kymmy - I love love love Lola as well, it's just beautiful.
How is everyone? I'm coming down with a cold, knew I would - I've just spent the weekend at our holiday house with friends and they had the end of a cold - booooo, I hope I don't give it to Amelia but what can you do!
Just a quickie tonight as totally shattered and need to go to bed......the self settling is going great - it's only taken a week and I put Amelia down awake (but tired) - I just put her straight on her tummy as she just rolls anyway and pat her bum a couple of times, say nighty night and walk out - she is left staring at the cot aquarium thingy and listening to her music and that's it, no fuss, no crying - it's amazing how quick they learn! Let's hope it stays that way. Also, the food is coming along, made up a massive batch of pumpkin, sweet potato and swede today, will try at lunch tomorrow. Who else feeds just twice a day? Mum said to give it to her at lunch not dinner until her digestive system gets used to it otherwise it just sits in their belly when they go to bed. Does it really matter?
Self-settling going well here too. Doing pretty much the same as Ali. When it's bedtime for Craig, we go put Ryan in the cot with the lullaby cot thingy going (we have the jungle one) and he goes to sleep before it's finished. I think he starts his wind down with a bath, 'cause he gets really cranky around 6pm but always stops crying as soon as his clothes come off and I'm about to put him in the bath.
Feel better soon Ali and Mel! Hope your kids don't get the cold as well.
Thanks Suz - we have the jungle one too lol! Amelia loves it Glad the settling is working for you too, Amelia has a bath at 6.00 pm and then bottle....she then goes to bed about 7.00/7.30 pm.
Yep, have a cold here, don't feel too bad, just a yukky nose, good excuse not to go anywhere and do some scrapbooking. I'm trying so hard not to kiss Amelia as I don't want her to get it but I guess if she's going to get it she will anyway being in the same household! I never had one cold last year and I was pregnant. So far I've had gastro (thanks to the inlaws for passing that one on) and now a cold in a month! I wonder if it's because I'm not exposed to different people like normal, usually I'm on the train and at work, I reckon it boosts your immunity being around people constantly. Not a good enough reason to go back to work though is it? lol
Feeling a little bit dodgy this morning, OHHHH the joys!
Brit is happy about the pregnancy! She was a bit shocked, she kept saying "Oh my God, Oh my God!"!! This morning before school she said, "Isn't it funny that we are not very excited about this baby cos its the second one and we have Archie to look after!?" Hahahaha! She is soo rapt with Archie though, honestly, she absolutely dotes on him! She is such a good big sister and, i hate to say it, but i think she is going to be VERY handy to have around come January!!!
Alison: Hope you are feeling better soon! And hope Amelia doesn't get it, but if she does, look at it as a positive that it is building up her immune system, so although it is not very nice at the time, it is actually good for them in the long run xxxxx
Looks like Lola it is then! haha! Everyone agrees! The only thing DH doesn't like about it is that the Rolling Stones song "Lola" is about a transvestite......... But as if kids her age would work that out, that song would be positively ANCIENT by the time she is at teasing age!!!!
We are still struggling with the sleeping bizo, but i am trying to make sure he gets more naps during the day and i can honestly say that he needs to go back to bed after 2-2.5 hours of awake time. So he must have been sooooo tired before i worked this out! Stupid Mummy! I just have to have a lay down with him in the arvo and we have a big sleep together.
Where is Mel lately? I'm LOST without FB already! hahahaha! Keep going to log on then remember that i'm no longer on there! Talk about withdrawals....... I won't be able to see all your new clippies Bec and pics of your shop Sarah..... BOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Maybe i'll join up again..... hahahaha!
Hope you all have a lovely day... I am going to visit my Mumma and Pappa! Dad is going great and will be starting back at work next week! He has been on his tractor the last two weeks, he can't stand sitting still, so he'll be excited to get back to work!
Hey Kymmy - well I AM ancient (lol) and I didn't even think of that so suffice to say I'm sure Lola will be safe. It's such a pretty name, I lurrrv pretty names. I still love Ruby for next time around if I have another girl, but DH needs convincing. I heard the name Lauren the other day too at swimming and thought that was a lovely old fashioned pretty name. Anyway, best not get ahead of myself ha ha. Re sleeping, Amelia is basically awake generally for 1.5-2 hours - no more as she gets overtired. Even if she isn't rubbing her eyes which she usually is I put her down. If you wait until they're past it they won't settle - well, Amelia won't anyway!
Hi all
I like Lola too but I'm thinking if I have another girl I like rennesme lol I'm sad
Kymmie can you open an fb account under an alias and just have bb ppl on it
I'm going to get dh an iPod touch and I've asked him to pay for my next tattoo for my pressie so now he won't be on my phone all weekend playing his stupid apps lol
Hello my lovelies! I have just spent the last half an hour reading through all the posts I have missed, I'm on my phone and can't remember what everyone wrote
Tapatalk is very cool
Lola is a gorgeous name - I love it!
Feo and V are powering ahead! Ruby has just started rolling accross the room- I found her sucking on a DVD case this morning…
Amelia is very gorgeous in her cute clippies!!
Natty, I am about 2.5 hrs drive from Sarah, might have to give the kids a day off school. Sure they will love that lol! Really excited about meeting the two of you and the kiddletts too xx
Shayna the UFO cake turned out awesome. I'll have to check out the photos.
Ahhh, ruby has woken up for a feed- again. Hopefully she'll sleep for a few hours tonight 'pray'
Hi to the girls I forgot xxxx
I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by this pregnancy bizo.. I suppose it's just the emotions all coming out but I'm bloody scared! I was looking around my house, there is washing everywhere, the floors are gross, the bathroom hasn't been scrubbed in ages..... How the heck am I gonna manage with TWO babies!? I have that 'holy sh*t what have we done?" feeling.......
I had a little bit of pink discharge yesterday so I rested up. I remember one of you had it, was it you Natty? I'm booked in for a u/s on 1st June and don't want to go sooner in case they don't see anything. I feel fine tho and it has stopped today so I'm sure everything is ok..
OMG it's 10.20 pm and Im in bed with Archie and he is 'singing' at the top of his lungs!! Sleep boy sleep!
Haha! It's sooo cute though...
Aww kym it probably is just the hormones making you feel that way, although you would be absolutly sh*tting yourself too. I guess it's going to be harder work but you can do it. Brit will be there to help out if you need it and Brian will too. And we are here too…
Archie sounds too cute, don't you just want to squeeze them sometimes?!?
Hope you don't have any more spotting xxx take care Hun
Hi Kymmy - I think the pink discharge is normal for some isn't it? I never had it but know lots of people who did, just don't do too much. What date will you be due again do you think?
Hi Ubes, Mon, Suz, Telly, Natty, Madame! Sorry for no persies, I'm full of a head cold - my sinuses are burning and I feel like my head is going to explode. I'm sick of being sick, this is twice in 5 weeks I've had an illness - I didn't get sick once last year! grrrrr I hope I don't give it to Amelia, I will feel terrible if she gets this sh*tty blocked nose.
Talking of Amelia, I was sitting here yesterday reading a mag and looked down and Amelia was on her tummy and next time I looked she was on her back and then her tummy again! Finally she can roll from tummy to back! I thought she was close as on Tuesday she started going from tummy to side. Isn't it funny how within a day they have worked something out. Oh and I put some pear in her rice cereal this morning and she loved it!
Gotta go, dying for a shower and best do it while Amelia is having a nap. Yesterday afternoon in her late arvo nap she only had 30 mins, grrrr - hope that's not the start of something. She's also been waking up at 6.00 am instead of 7.00 am the last few days, I try and leave her to chatter and what not in her cot before I go get her. I much prefer the 7.00 am wake up, especially when I'm feeling like crap lol.
hey kymmy I totally second what mon suggested, i was even going to suggest it myself, haha! You don't have to have any photos or personal details, just so you can squizz at out posts, photos ect comment, and not feel left out iykwim. I know EXACTLY how you feel with the spotting. With Kaili i spotted quite heavily at 16weeks. With Feo I spotted at 6ish, 10ish, 11ish, 15ish weeks... was soooo stressful, but as you can see - both my babies are healthy and adorable (lol). Try not to think about things like you can't do it.. YOU CAN DO IT! You're a bloody awesome mum! Think, when we're no longer earthside - i'd rather be remembered as a great mum over someone having a clean house - and i know you feel the same. FWIW I cleaned my bathroom tonight for the first time in months also.. lol Hope you feel better after your sleep, and that gorgeous son of yours goes to bed!
Hey sarah!! Oh how darn HOT you look!!! Far out!! I still stick by my earlier posts that you should go into modeling! How's everything going your way? The new shop?? Ohh i jealous that natty and bec are going to see your shops!! grr!! jeeaaallllous!! How's that beautiful tully going?? x
Ali - yay that miss amelia is rolling everywhere!! Look out now, lol! You'll be wishing she would stay in one spot! haha!
AFM - not much happening my way. DH is away tonight. thank lordie. I really felt like a night by myself.. so i could bb. hahaha! I was in troube when he got home yesterday, he had no clean underwear (i hadn't done a dark load for 4 days ) and he was cracking a little tanny that his undies were dirty, the house was a ****fight, and he had to cook dinner ... hahaha. man i am such a terrible SAHM some days! Yikes!! So anyway, tomorrow I am going to solve the dillema of no clean jocks, i'm going to go buy him 10 new pairs! lol!! problem SOLVED! Like my way of thinking??
So nyway, thats why i cleaned the bathroom tonight, so atleast when he gets home tomorrow ONE room wll be clean! haha!
Self settling here is OUT THE WINDOW! Crap i suck. I just find it so hard when we're such a busy little family. There is only one day we're at home (monday) - so things just.. dont work like that. Argh i feel so terrible tho, listening to ya'll talk abou how easy your bubs are to go to sleep. Feo is still slurping on the boob to go to sleep just about everytime... crraap.
He is doing really well with solids now. far out he just smashes his food! hehe! It takes him about... a minute and a half, i suppose, to eat a snack cup (the tupperware brand) for puree'd food. As soon as i put the spoon in, his mouth is open ready for the next.. no exageration! This morning i tried him on rafferty's garden breakfast rice cereal, or something like that, and he LOVED it!!! (sooo happy with that, DD is HELL for breakfast, sooo fussy).
Anyway, im blabbing on a bit
better head to sleep
love you all!!
x
Don't feel bad Telly - I haven't even tried self setling. I've been lying down & feeding Mr I to sleep for every sleep - I'm getting alot of books read! I was having trouble putting him in the cot once he's asleep so that's my solution. I have to work 3 days next month & DH is looking after the boys so we need to work on sleep before then.
I had a nice b'day - Thank you all for the birthday wishes on FB. We went to breakfast and went to the Baby & kids market and bought heaps of clothes for DS1 and a nappy for Mr I. I got my pressie from DH yesterday - he'd ordered it 10 days early, but it only came on Tuesday & I wasn't home so had to go to the PO to pick it up. its a necklace with the boys names on it and a black pearl. Its not the right length - he ordered 24" and its 18", but now I have it I like the length so I want him to e-mail and ask for the extra he paid for the length refunded.
one of my besties had a little girl last night, 7pound 4, victoria! yipee! Went shopping today and got her some bonds leggins (omg how cute are they!) and a couple of other pink outfits. i love shopping for girl things! so much more fun!
another girl i went to school with, who was utd, has had her fb status's for ages that bring on the baby, stop kicking baby, etc etc. She was overdue from what i gathered. anyway, just read a post someone wrote on her wall (we're mutual friends), saying sorry for her loss and let her baby boy fly free with the angels.... omg... how horrible!!! So i went on her fb page, and she's deleted EVERYTHING to do with her pregnancy off of it... i feel sick in the stomach.. poor girl. What do you do?? We're friends from school... but not friends, iykwim... argh... why is life so crap?
just got home from dinner. cactus jacks - yummy!
my boobs are huge. waiting for theo to wake to drain them, then hopefully we'll both be pushing zz's.
ubbs - omg those hats..... SO DAMN CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FAR OUT!!!!!!!! ruby doob is super cute in them... i just wanna squeeezeee her! lol!
