We just got another 5 hour block of sleep! That's amazing! Potty E went down at 9 and I went at 10 or just after lol. But I'm not complaining.

That's amazing too traylee - only waking once between those times. Sleep is a wonderful thing!

Yay for all the sleep everyone is getting! We normally only get woken once overnight too, last night was twice but she has a blocked nose so I understand!

I did a post on the other page and it disappeared and now I don't remember what we were talking about.

Traylee - with the daycare, I wont put P in before she is one but if you need a break once a week for a few hours no one would say anything about you puttting Scarlett in. It certainly wont hurt her!

We have our check ups today. I dont know what is going to happen with me, I am still bleeding so she can't do a pap smear still and my head is still awful! So we will see. Phoebe will have her check and needles so sad seeing her get poked!

We've chatted enough already to earn a new thread

Traylee - I've taken a year of work and will decide then if I go back one or two days a week, so A won't be going to childcare until I make up my mind on what I'm doing but then I'm lucky with DH being home for 2 weeks at a time I should be able to get a break if I need and he'll have missed her enough to want to take her off my hands for a while

Sleepy - Good on E for such a great sleep last night!

Marni - Hope you guys are feeling better real soon & good luck with your checkups today.

A is having her needles too this morning and I'm feeling so guilty about it, think it's mostly because I'm petrified of injections and also the fact someone is going to hurt my baby and I dread hearing her cry when it's being done

Well A did a marathon sleep last night after going down about 9.45 last night she woke up at 7.30 this morning, her best effort yet! She was stirring from about 6.30-7.00ish with grunts & groans but everytime I went to get her she was still asleep. It was when I unwrapped and picked her up I smelt what all the fussing was about hahaha

Well I better run and have a shower while she's quiet & sleeping (again ) and get ready to be out the house in about an hour.

Hi to everyone, have a great day and enjoy lots of baby cuddles!

ok, new thread and a new promise to post regularly lol...well, I'll try at any rate.

I have had real issues with my internet so I havent been able to read last posts so am going to start afresh.

AFM - things are going well. We are going to try dream-feeding (just learnt what it is!) and hope that that will break Zen's habit of having his big sleep at 6pm-1am. Would be much nicer if it was overnight, I dont want to go to bed at 6 lol. he rarely sleeps during the day but today has had an hour nap and now has been down for at least another hour! Might have something to do with Daddy being home for the day??
On 5 July we will have our doc appt - my 6wk and Zens 8wk. (wk 7 for both of us) I too am not looking forward to the needles
Oh well...good excuse for cuddles and I had them as a baby and dont resent my mum

Hope you are all doing well and getting enough rest etc.

Well my day has been crap!!! First after I dropped T at daycare came home to get P ready for the drs. Picked her up and then noticed some poo on her leg. Thought ok, better go and change her. Then I also noticed it on me and the carpet. It completely covered her and my jeans, jacket and shirt. After baths we got dressed again and then were ready to go. Had to then go and find the idiot who parked over my driveway and in front of my bins. He moved his car but just said, 'Oh I didn't notice'!

Move on from that at the drs. I need an ultrasound to check for retained placenta - that will be $157. Phoebe is perfect but has the most horrible squeal when she has her needles. The sound just about broke my heart. She barely made a sound when I had her ears pierced but this was awful. So we get home and I decide to give her some panadol in case she is in pain. She kind of chokes on it and then makes awful sounds for 5-10 minutes which makes me feel like the worst mummy in the world! Eventually she falls asleep and I am constantly checking her thinking she is going to stop breathing after choking! (She is fine)

Then I decide to do some cleaning, put washing on. Go back in after doing the dishes and my laundry is flooded. So is the toilet where it leaked under the wall. Clean that up. Change my sheets after P peed on them this morning. The washing machine seems to be working properly but I think it is time for a new one!

I have had an interesting day! On a good note however, P is 5.5kg, 58cm long and has 39cm head! Sorry for the very selfish post but I do feel a bit better now and will finish my coffee on a positive note!

Hi Tina - great to hear from you wow Z does a huge sleep early evening but can understand why you want to try dream feed and move that big block a bit later at night, bed at 6pm is just a little "bit" early lol

Marni - oh you poor thing, what a day for you. Enjoy your coffee!! What happens if you do have retained placenta, do you need to have a D&C? Great to hear P is growing so well & is perfect

Well needles are all done, think I was more traumatised that she was (yes mum shed a tear) she was all smiles at the nurse before having them, she sucked down the liquid stuff but wow did she cry when they gave them to her but a quick cuddle and she was all smiles again which made me feel that little bit better.

She seems to be ok so far, a bit sooky so I gave her some panadol just in case before putting her down for a nap - she felt a bit warmer than normal but didn't register a fever.

Ahhh have no excuse not to go and clean the kitchen & do some washing.......

Not sure how long I'll last as i have a squirmy screaming bub on my lap. We seem to be having a few days of 'grumpy bubby' atm, which is no fun at all. Fortunately, he changes back into our beautiful boy at 7pm (for bath, massage and feed) and we've had 8 hrs, 8 hrs and 8 3/4 hrs the past 3 nights!

We've had a lot of sucking and slobbering lately too plus more controlled hand movements - must be developmental. B has also started taking notice of a couple of his toys, which he hasn't shown any interest in until now. With all those new discoveries, it's no wonder he's Mr Cranky Pants.

Phew - DH has taken him for a walk around the yard which will hopefully soothe him a little, not to mention my poor ears!

Marni - What a horrible day!

Tina - Let us know how you get on moving that big block of sleep up! What IS a dreamfeed?? I still don't know!

Phoenix - B's needles are on Monday and I'll be crying too. Did I tell you I was at the Dr's a few weeks ago and saw the nurse giving a girl her 12 month needles? Mum and girl were OK, it was the total stranger (me) in the corner crying! Oh and what's this about your boobs not being sore any more?! Are you still leaking?

Traylee - Personally I wouldn't put S in care so young, but maybe a bit later on. If you're worried about socialisation for Scarlett, can you join a playgroup/mother's group? I've joined a new parents group that starts in a fortnight and am really looking forward to it. It won't give me a break, but it will mean adults to talk to!

    Tiff - B is breastfed.

Hi to everyone else - hope you're all getting plenty of sleep and happy cuddles and play.

Question - What size nappies and clothes are everyone's bubs wearing now? We're still using Huggies Newborn nappies but are starting to get more leaks so I was wondering if they're getting a little small?? We're still in 0000 clothes too, not sure when the 000 will fit.

Jleigh - dreamfeed is where you where you get them up and offer them a feed while they are sleeping/semi-awake, burp and put straight back to bed - apparently it can help stretch out the length of the night sleep.

Clothes - she has only been wearing 000's which are still a bit big on her the past week or so, the 0000's still fit although looking a little tight & small but am thinking of putting them away to make sure she does get wear out of all the 000's and 0-3 months she has been given

Nappies - even though she only weighs 4.690kgs (yesterday) and 55cms she's been in the huggies infant sized nappies (4-8kgs) for about 3-4 weeks, I use them overnight and they fit better than the newborns for some reason.

Clothes - We have been in 000 for weeks. She was out of 0000 bodysuits at about 2 weeks.

Nappies - We have been in infant for ages and just bought a box of crawler on the weekend. She wont go in them yet but they were on sale.

JLeigh - I hope he is happier for you tomorrow.

Nappies - We have just upgraded to infant size - 4-8kg. The newborn still fit just, but we were getting leaking poop and very full nappies, so I thought it was time to upsize.

Clothes - Elijah has been in 000 since he was about 2 weeks old, and I think it's because he's so long. They seem to be only just fitting at the moment too, but I really don't want to be putting him in 00 just yet...he's just too young to be so big! But it only seems to be the wonder suits that are fitting like that. All his other clothes - mostly from kmart are just fitting him better. They are bigger in their sizing. So a 000 will fit him for longer.

We are having our 6 week check up today - even tho we are 7 weeks on Sunday. So still have another week until immunisation time. I just can't believe how fast it's going! Nearly 2 months old

Thanks Phoenix - I wasn't sure what a dream feed was either!

Marni - Sounds like you had a really terrible day. I can totally understand tho, especially with a 3 year old. We have days where absolutely nothing goes right! Not a fan of those I can tell you! We just have to keep on going...lol

We had a 6 hour block of sleep last night...from 8 until 2am. I couldn't believe it. Maybe he's progressing each few nights. Lol. But I won't hold my breath, sleep changes all the time, so if he did start sleeping longer, it wouldn't last....lol I just know it. But it's nice to wake up and feel like I've at least had a good solid rest. I had a 2 hour nap yesterday, and found that if I wake up before he does, I feel so much better than being woken up by screaming. Lol

    have a great day mummies.....xox

I forgot to mention how he's growing...he's been smiling for 2 weeks now, which is just adorable and he has just started putting his hands in his mouth. He loves to baby babble and loves his big brothers talking to and playing with him. He hates being alone too. If I leave him in his bouncer chair, alone, he starts crying. But if someone is in ghe room, and he can see them he's usually ok. He is starting to love his showers too.

scarlet is in newborn babyloves, but i got a infant one to try i think when this bulk buy of babylove gone ill put her in infant size, i also have the enx size up in huggies box from newborn but not using them yet, i found the huggies new born to small so i went to baby love newborn they r great i got in bulk 144 for $35 from bigw and they r good nappies.

scarlet woke 2 times between 7pm and 6am this morning, S loves to babble away and loves her big sister, hayley takes her alot and holds her and burps her and stuff whenn im trying to cook dinner and make school lunch she is good with her. i was gonna put her in her cot soon i been in her room trying to sort it out and make it nice its just hard when S doesnt wanna sleeep much during day lol she didnt have her horrible night pattern last night she went down at 7 and i was suprised, maybe it was the sugar in the milk, she has been bit constipated again and someone told me a bit of brown sugar helps so i put a pinch in her milk it does help maybe it helps with other wind issues to not sure but she went down easy last night

Traylee - I used babylove newborn & infants on A and they are great, had less leaks with them than the huggies! I swapped back to huggies since I only use disposables at night and with her 8-9hour sleeps overnight found huggies more absorbant, the babyloves gave her a nappy rash which I was sad about because I liked using them, they are so much softer.

Sleepy - It's the same here with growsuits, she's not long (55cm) by any stretch but find she's usually a size ahead in the them, they just don't seem to make the leg & feet part big enough and everywhere else is baggy. Kmart ones seems to be more generous in sizing than the target ones. It is sad when they go up a size, it means our little babies are growing up. Though there is one baby in mothers group who is a week older than A and has been in 00's for weeks - she is a big girl and over 6kgs already!

Marni - hope today is better than yesterday for you.

Well I'm still sitting in my PJ's and it's 1pm. We had a sleep in this morning coz it was cold and rainy plus she's abit grizzling & clingy - think she's feeling yuck from the needles. Have only been able to put her down for a couple of minutes at a time so haven't made it to the shower, but I have at least got a load of washing on and folded and put away a basket full from the other day.

Think I'm going to have to take her into bathroom in bouncer and have a quick wash - I was going to try and get to shaving my legs oh well.....DH is away until tuesday so still have a couple of days to get them done lol.

Nappies - we just bought snugglies infant ?(4-8kg) they are large but good for overnight as i use cloth during the day.
Clothes - we have some OOOO that fit but Zen is so long that if they have feet he cant stretch out & gets cranky.OOO are really big unless he is in cloth nappies.
Sleep - sleepy, yippee on the longer block - it works wonders on ur doesnt it? I'm jealous of you mummies get 8hr blocks but the midwife said with me breastfeeding i dont want him going an 8hr block as i'm still establishing my milk supply.i can see why some women choose to bottle feed - it seems like it would be easier!
Marni - hope your day got better! it sounded like quite a day, i would have been in tears!
Phoenix - did you get the kitchen & washing done?
JLeigh - Zens needles are mon week - I know who will be doing the crying...wish i could get DH to come along. sounds like you have been getting somew great blocks of sleep
Traylee - Big W are great as they have a brand of bulk nappies on special every week.

AFM: did the dreamfeed. Zen went down about 7pm, i fed & changed him at 9.30pm and he slept till 3.10am then till 6.15am. I'm happy with that so will persevere.
dreamfeed - already answered but is when you eed bub during a nap time...i only learnt what it was yesterday from midwife.
Milestones - Zen is chatting alot, especially at night when i put him down & he is still awake..talks himself to sleep lol.at his 5wk4day weigh he was 4.3kg, 1.1kg more than birth,

    Hi everyone

Sorry i havent been in for awhile i am so far behind with everyone and everything just been so busy kids have all been sick now May has the sniffles also.

We are doing well May is now 4kg cant believe how much she has grown she was only around 2.5kg at birth
Clothes she is still in 0000 other things but in 000 bonds suits now.
Nappies i am just finishing off the last of the newborns now i agree traylee the baby love ones are great i still have quite a few of them left in newborn but they are bigger then the huggies ones.
May has changed into a new baby since we changed formulas she poos everyday which is exciting for us.
Sleeping well once we get all of the wind up one night she went right through from 10:00pm but still averaging 7-8hrs in between feeds sometimes less sometimes more just depends and then sometimes she dosent sleep well at all so every night is a mystery.
We have a few half hearted smiles but nothing full on yet.
Traylee i used to do the brown sugar remedy it is 1/4 of a teaspoon in the bottle for 2 feeds only if it dosent work repeat the next day thankfully i dont have to use it anymore atm.
Well sorry for no real personals i have a few more things to do before the older 2 get home from school and hopefully i wont be as long getting back here but then again going to be flat out for 2 weeks with all 4 kids at home for school holidays start after today.

Everyone take care and hope all mums and bubs are well.
