I have a fennel - what do I do with it?

I have never ever cooked a fennel but Aussie Farmers delivered one to me and now I have to cook it. What should I do with it?

You can make soup with it. Also goes well with fish, like a snapper and fennel pie?

Thinly slice it, some green apples, lemon juice and light mayo...thyme maybe...yummo with fish like salmon or trout.

Roast beetroot and fennell salad is awesome

You can cut it into wedges and roast it with other roast veg for any roast meat...

ETA: Goes really well with nuts - walnuts, pecans...

I've always eaten fennel raw. Love it!

thinly slice it, with green apple and celery, add some fennel seeds. dressed with a lime and palm sugar dressing. Make dressing by juicing limes, and add palm sugar until flavour is balanced. Dress whole salad and let it sit for a few hours... SO delicious!

We have it as a salad regularly. Thinly sliced - dress with salt, pepper, vinegar & oil

I'm scared of fennel, is it true it tastes like aniseed? I do not think this is what a vegetable is meant to taste like!
