Okay, Alannah was due the 5th October so right now I would be in my 39th week. No way in the world would I have made it this far! lol Elective c-section was booked and nicely timed for the 24th September.....but at 2pm on the 19th Sept after a deep one hour sleep, I woke up and moments later heard POP...my waters broke. Alannah was born at 4.37pm via c-section. Weight 3.2kg and 50cm long. A baby sister for Bailey (2006) and Noah (2008).
Even though she came mid Sept, I am sticking with my October girls, some of whom I formed a friendship with back in the ttc days.....feels like only yesterday!

yayy ill be joining you in here soon Vix... cant wait. hopefully he arrives sometime in the next few days or heads are gonna roll lol (can you tell im over it)
Today is the 5th October and that means today is/was Alannahs actual due date!
Still a little all over the palce at night with feeds. Last night I climbed into bed after 9pm.....was up again 5 minutes later. I was almost asleep too. (Does not take long to fall asleep these days! lol) Then at about 11pm, the same damn thing happened. Then we did a 2am feed and then a 6am feed. Basically, I am very glad this is our last baby. I really struggle with the after midnight feeds now. I used to just roll outta bed, fed and go back to bed but Alannah is soooooo not her brothers!
Forgot about moving on to this thread too.......lol
Nice to see you both in here - have subscribed to it now so will make sure to post in here and read everyone's posts! Hopefully we'll have some of the other Mummy's joining us soon!
Off to bed now, bubs just had another feed and went to sleep almost instantly - yay!! (I'm exhausted right now......)
Can't believe my cheeky monkey is already 1 week and 2 days old!! Time sure does fly by TOO fast!!!!
Happy 3 weeks Alannah......mmmmm........that means a month next week and then only 11 months till she is one! See what happens when you add a ticker for their first bday, time speeds up!
Okay, I think we are sorting ourselves out. Have kinda drawn the conclusion Alannah is cluster feeding from after dinner onwards till about midnight / 1am. She slept from about 1am till I woke her up at 7.30am this morning so gotta be happy with that. Am feeding her every 3-4 hrs during the day and prolly every 2 hours after dinner.
Tonight I will just sit up with her as she won't settle and hates being put down for even 5 mins during 'those' feeds. I am also starting on Fenugreek Flow (tea) to help boost my milk.
HWow Nikki and Pretz - a week old already.
Nikki - Yep mastitis gone. Stress related and also I think coz it was the side I was sleeping on. Just started feeds from that side for a cuople hours and a hot shower and it went away! Phew!!! With Bailey I had it for 6 weeks straight and was on so many antibiotics and ended up weaning him at almost 8 months. Was like having the flu for 6 weeks with all the aches and pains etc Someone said i should have been admitted to hospy....not really sure about that though! lol
Pretz - how are you going hun? Bet your Mummy is super proud. First grandbaby????
Wrote a post this morning and lost it.....how annoying!!
No, not FF top up feeding, was just having a moment but am over it now!!! My milk supply also seems to have increased heaps in the last day or two, i think i was probably a bit more stressed than i realised with the chnage of leaving hospital & coming home, then the inlaws were here on my doorstep an hour after we got home and i just wanted time with Ty & DH, that was stressful! MIL even took pillowcases back to her house to iron them for me , WTF??? ...i iron nothing!!!
Vix - know what you mean about the feeding & unsettled period, Ty is unsettled between 6/7pm until about 11pm just wanting to be fed and cuddled, then cuddled & fed, he then sleeps from about 11.30 to 2.30/3am, then awake again at 6.30/7am, i figure can't complain about that & once he sorts out the cluster feeding (whenever that is!) we'll be getting plently of sleep. I think you mentioned tired signs, we're pretty good at recognising them, but sometimes(see below) his will to fight against sleep is SOOOOO strong!!
Ty had a pretty good daytime routine going over the weekend( was even self settling with only a little grumble!) but is being a little monkey today & is really fighting sleep. He is one very strrong minded little boy, but i suppose he gets that off both his parents!!
Hope you are all enjoying your newborn cuddles & getting sleep when you can! xx
PS. just updated ticker & my little monkey is finally asleep, heres hoping it is more than a catnap

Hope you are all doing well and getting to have a nap when your babies are sleeping/napping!
I have a group question re: BF? - Is anyone else having to wake their babies after 4 hours for a feed? I find that Noah will sometimes start to fuss a little around 4 hours after his last feed and will feed him then, but find that I mostly have to wake him to feed him now..... is this normal? Ok? Being a first time Mummy I'm a tiny bit worried and my Mum said that she reckons it's ok. Could possibly still be the jaundice as he is still a tiny bit yellow, although he does have some hours in the morning when he is alert and awake.
Just wanted to find out what you girls thought/opinions are...?
Just got home after our first grocery shopping trip and Noah was a little Angel!! Literally! He slept all the way to the shops and in the trolley and all the way back home again and still sleeping. He is due for his next feed in 10 mins so will probably have to wake him again as I don't see him waking on his own...lol.
I'm in quite a bit of pain though since coming home. My 2nd degree tear is still giving me quite bad pain and I have noticed standing and sitting for a long time and walking around a lot makes it ache/burn more......
Well then, best get going but will pop in again soon!
Pretz - I wake Alannah if we get to 4.5 hours, esp if she has already had a big 6-7 hour sleep during the night. Noah will (listen to me giving advice when I have just turned myself inside and out with Alannah! lol) sort himself out but 'it is early days yet'. Alannah is starting to wake up by herself around the 4 hour mark. They say to only alllow one big sleep in a 24 hr period. Hope that helps you....only half way through my first coffee.
Sparkles - the cluster feeds are a group of really (and often very annoying) close feeds. This builds up your supply and provides them with 'more' in the event they sleep longer and for periods of growth spurts. Alannah seems to have shorter feeds during this time so I am actually trying to keep her on the boob longer to get the fatter milk in the hope it will stretch her out longer. Hope that makes sesne.......Alannah does her from after dinner through till around midnight buuuut I did get to bed for an hour last night so I think she is slowly going longer. Growth spurts are at around, and not precisely 2, 4 and 6 weeks. Alannah is 3 weeks and just coming out of her 2 week one...........fingers crossed!
I know what you mean about the moment. Last Friday (I think) I had a complete meltdown. I had been crying every day for almost 2 weeks and one small thing just ticked me off. I was thinking of ff (after 2 kids who I bf), what would happen if I left DH, phonibg Tresillian because I thought Alannah was a problem baby etc etc etc Damn Hormones!!!!! I have actually said no visitors till Alannah and i sort ourselves out and I am back on top of things - that inc 2 of my closest friends.
AFM: The little miss is now having a feed leading up to midnight and a 4 / 5 am one, there goes my big 6 hour sleep I was getting! *sigh* DH goes back to his real job today so I am back to flying solo from 7am till 6am...with three kids! eeeeekkkkk!!!!!!
Booked Alannah into Twinkle Toes for the 3rd Nov. She'll be 6 weeks that week (WOW!!!) and I got both the boys done during their 6th week too.
Have started drink my milk making tea (can't remember if I have mentioned it) and I am back to ouchie let downs again! lol As long as the little miss is satisfied, that is all that matters.
So mad with our Pediatrician right now. When I was in hospy, he told me to make an appointment when I got home and to mention Alannah was a Nepean Private baby and they would slot her in. So I did. That was on the 27th Sept. It worked our perfectly because DH was off on the date we made the appointment for. Yesterday his receptionist phones and says he can't do that day now and mumbled something about him going on hols. She told me not to 'take it personally'. Anyways, Alannah will be 9 weeks old before she is seen. She kept saying if I had any concerns to take her to a GP...der!! I would do that anyway. And now DH cannot come.
So I called Community Health and asked them could they send our someone sooner than planned and i explained what happened. I said with DS#2 no one came out until he was three months old (from Community Health). I also said I felt like I had just been cast aside everywhere. I know I am a 3 x Mum, but that does not mean I am not entitled to peace of mind and to know if she has put weight on etc
If Community Health don't call me today, I am going to bite the bullet and phone another Pediatrician!
Hi guys. Thought I'd best drop by
Will come back to catch up, but have too much to do right now. DH did a great job here by himself, but never quite got to folding & putting washing away & let the little ones trash their room I'd leave it, but I can't. Its getting on my nerves coz I left it yesterday!
Summer is doing ok. I'm feeling better today than I was yesterday, but thats coz I got some sleep. I think we'll be co sleeping from day dot this time around. I co slept with DD2 & DS, but I like to wait til their a bit older. I don't think missy will give me that choice. She won't sleep without me there. Well not at night when its quiet... She's great through the day when its noisy!
Anyway, will get back when I can in the next few days x
m/w has just left, she was very happy with everything and proud of me for over coming boobie problems whilst keeping my cool (sorta)
Cooper has lost exactly 200g and is super happy and healthy.
speaking off Cooper, hes waking up and i want a cuddle will be back on later
