    Flat sheets! Who uses them?

    Does anyone actually use these?
from my pack i only use the fitted sheets and have no idea what to use the flat sheets for!
I know they are to go inbetween the doona and yourself but i just find them annoying when that happens lol

Any other ideas on what to do with them?

Always use a top sheet here too. It helps protect the doona from the bodily fluids that come off while sleeping (ewww).

We use tops sheets here. Maybe you could build cubby houses with the ones you have or cut them up and use them as capes, dresses etc for dressups if you have a sewing machine.

Target are now selling only fitted sheets in packs now. So maybe check them out!!

I do. Have to here - in Summer it is the only thing you can have on, but I can't have no doonah on the bed when it is made
Just loks better made with both, the doonah gets folded back over the end of the bed at night most of the year and we use the sheet only.

FYI though, Target now make sheet sets with no flat sheet in them, just for people who don't use them, so you don't have to have a linen press full of sheets you will never use!

I used to use them, but then I just got sooo sick of the bed being a mess after one night because of DF tossing and turning and kicking the sheet out from under the mattress. It even starts to happen to the fitted sheet!
So now my flat sheets just sit in the cupboard..except for the one that's hanging off the doorway between the kitchen and the rest of the house, it gets put down in winter to keep the living areas a bit warmer..lol

OMG I am a massive top sheet lover!! I can't sleep with my top sheet on. I'd cut them up for dress up or sheets for your kids dolls beds. If you wan tto get rid of them you could always see if a childcare centre wants them or the salvos.

lol oh man i thought there would be more people who DONT use top sheets than who do. You guys are definitely not lazy like me lol!

I might make some sleep bags for DD seeing she always loves to kick the dooner off!

I use the flannel ones in winter but turned all my cotton/summer ones into fitted sheets.

Nope we don't like them here either, just a royal PITA! Spotlight also sell fitteds alone in a pack. I only ever use them in summer when it's too hot for anything else, and even then I usually wet a sarong or something instead....Man if you are in Melbourne you will know how odd that sounds with the weather we have right now - just the thought of sleeping with a WET cold sheet on top of me seems so bizarre. I have the heater on 22 and it hasn't stopped raining all day! Sorry to go so OT!

I only use them in winter with flannel sheets. No way in summer!

I'd never though of turning them into fitted sheets. What an awesome idea *Efjay*

We didn't use them when we lived in Melbs, but up here in Brissie we really need them, as Limey said, you can't have anything else on in summer.

We also have them for our spare bed, because we have a lot of visitors, so the extra protection is definitely good.

You can also turn them into littler sheets if you want to. I have made some cot sheets this way. Delicious little cot sheets. Mmmm.

    Yep - same here!!

Also in winter I can not go without a top sheet! I find it uncomfortable without one. Also figures it saves having to wash covers so much as well, and they dont wear out/fade as quick iykwim.
