how much is too much before the "diet" is cancelled out?

    Jelly I mean.
I have been making up diet jelly to have on hand as a snack, to help the sweet tooth and for the after dinner munchies etc

But one of the sachets says it is 4 servings, WTF I eat one sachet myself! (probably one of the reasons I am now on a diet in the first place )

I thought it was like a free food. I know it is on Tony Ferguson but it has me worried that here I am thinking its ok for me as so many diets tell you to snack on it, but maybe its not after all.

Fruit and veges are supposed to be great for you too but it turns out bananas arent so great, dont over do it on the fruit in general because of the sugars and even carrots arent good on a low carb diet!

in the words of Swiper - "oh mannnnnn!"

I went to a dietician a couple of years ago.

I am the sort to eat large portions of healthy food. Anyway she banged on about that eating a banana sandwich would be too many kilojoules, and that I should have a slice of raisin toast with jam, over two snacks say morning and afternoon tea.

Well they both have the same amount of kjs.

Bananas are packed with nutrients and are especially good for anxiety and depression.

Oh well you ate too much jelly. How many kjs in diet jelly anyway??? Not much I would imagine.

edited to say, just googled and some people are saying Tony Ferguson is a bit of a crash diet, and they feel hungry. My neighbour who tried craved eating carbohydrates a lot. Carbohydrates are good for your brain too.

I hate the word diet.... Dieting doesn't work, it never will only changing eating habits forever will help...

jelly has heaps of sugar.... Id think you'd be better off sticking with those sugar free lollies you can buy, that still taste normal .... For a sweet tooth, or have honey with yoghurt as a treat...

No she's talking about Diet Jelly lmao lololol has not much of anything in it!

Ok if you google the "A Pinch of Health" forum, someone is saying on a thread there, they've listed off if you managed to pack the maximum amount of nutrients into a day on the Tony Ferguson diet, it only comes to 875 calories or 3675kjs.

Now the average recommended intake for an adult woman aged 31-50 on another site is 7,600kjs and that is for a sedentary person.

875 calories seems very low, I would never personally go lower that 1200 calories a day because I would struggle to stick to anything lower than that. It's no fun being hungry all the time. I suspect your 4x diet jelly would be perfectly safe if you are in general having under 900 calories.

I tried TF before and only lasted 6 weeks! I did lose 10kilos which was fantastic but as with any crash diet I put it all back on then some.

This time around im breastfeeding and I want this to be a realistic lifestyle not a "diet" as such but I find the first few days are the hardest for me. Hence the reason I want the snacks and yummy things to feel like im not restricting myself. (lots of mental blocks to get through)

M2R I have had the sugar free lollies but does eating 3 or 4 (half a pkt ) of those defeat the purpose of being sugarfree??

Are you eating it cause you are hungry or because you feel like eating something? (KWIM?)
Jelly doesn't strike me as being at all filling. If it's only for a sugar kick why don't you separate it into portions before you set it (like 3-4 separate containers)? And just have one.
If you are actually hungry, I'd stay away from sweet stuff TBH. I'd go for sticks of celery and broccoli florets with hommus or something like that.

    Hi there,

I actually lost 30 kilos before getting pregnant this time and like you i ate Jelly after tea I really need to have something sweet after tea and i found that helped!!!

Tony Furgeson is crazy for only 865 calories!!! Before i fell pregnant i done the michelle bridge 12 week challenge that was 1200 calories - once i learnt how to eat properly it was actually really hard to eat the whole 1200 cals!!!
The WW jelly is only 80calories for the whole back and has no real sugar just the artificil sweetner, so really if you east a whole pack who cares for only 80 calories!! - a skinny milk cupaccino is 88 calories!!
