so they think it is septic arthritis....
apparently he has had nurofen and is a bit happier...
dont chg plans on my behalf... i am hoping i will still make it... (but will have to see how he is)
thanks for all your well-wishes! My mum is AOK!! her house got flooded in most rooms but thankfully she had everything moved to other parts of the house and up and in plastic bags. she is quite rattled and is finding it really difficult to see her town looking the way it is ATM. but the locals are awesome and have already organised "chainsaw crews" to help out and clear peoples yards and streets.
MP: oh no! poor N!
G: i am super flexible so happy to change days so that MP can be there as well!
i'll log on here tomorrow morning and see what we are up to!
Cass - yay your mum is ok, but i'm very sorry to hear she has had so much flooding. I will admit to having spent some sleepless moments in the middle of the night contemplating what might've happened to yoru friend A after they were turned away from the evac centre. Have you heard from her at all?
MP - poor N, that sounds like it must be very painful.
Arte, I've got to say the NZ system sounds pretty robust, I love the idea of first 20 hours free, then you pay over that. Makes total sense. Yes the education system here is different in every. single. state. Defence families have been lobbying for standard school systems for a couple of decades, it is a nightmare because some of the states are really wildly different to others.
MD: thankfully they are awesome! Yasi spared Machans (where they live). i dont have many details as the reception etc are so shocking that i am getting only info through my mum ATM (she is designated info receiver lol). being north of the cyclone helped a great deal me thinks.
Cass, so glad to hear your mum and friend are alright. Must have been terrifying for them all.
MD, they implemented the 20 free hours for 3 and 4 year olds as a scheme to get mothers back into the workforce (couldn't use cc costs as an excuse). No idea if it actually worked, but yay for me lol. That must be very hard when people move around Aust fitting in with the different schooling systems.
Sooooo tired. Thankfully DH has tomorrow off so I can hopefully fit in a nap somewhere. Miss A just stayed up until 10.30pm again.... Do you think she will ever go to bed at a normal time or that she is just a chronic night owl? She has always been like this. Today she only napped for 30 minutes at 2pm so I can't really cut out the day nap to make bedtimes more reasonable.
Arte, you must be soooo exhausted. I really don't know about the hours. Is she too warm in bed perhaps? I found DD1 always needed fewer blankets and clothes than other kids and slept badly when she was too covered. Also, when do you give her a bath? The cooling of your body is one of the mechanisms that trigger sleep at nighttime (along with darkness). So maybe tweak those in the evening? I really can't think why else it is...
Cass, I'm glad your friend is ok. I nearly cried with relief when I woke up all bleary eyed and stumbled out and put the telly on and the very first thing I saw was no recorded loss of life. It all seems more achievable today that people will get through this.
Ok, well if you all get together tomorrow I give you permission to ***** about what a partay pooper I am...but I'm determined to make it over there sometime, ok?!
Far out MP, septic arthritis can be pretty serious. Glad they discovered it. Hope he's feeling better soon. It would be so lovely to meet you, but don't push to come if he's not well. X
G- I'm easy with whatever just let me know
Trill I had a chuckle at the disappointment of girls attending make sure you pt that one in the memory bank for later!
Arte- you must be exhausted. Can you get A doing anything more physical to tire her out?? That must be hard.
Arte, don't say 'hopefully' tell him righto, I'm off for a snooze, see you in a few hours! You really need to have a catch up on sleep so you can keep the batteries emotionally charged kwim?
Hi girls
