Question Feeling of constipation yet was up with loose motions during the night?

As the title reads I have this feeling on constipation today yet was up during the night with loose motion.

I haven't suffered from constipation this pregnancy so this is a strange feeling for me.

    Whats going on?

It isn't a constant feeling, comes and goes 10 - 15 mins at a time. Have decided to increase my water intake and see how it goes.

Danielle this could be bubs preparing you for birth. The pushing down feeling (constipated) is very common in late pregnancy and the loose bowel movements are a sign that bubs may be coming. Many women get these signs as labour is about to start. If it is starting to come in "waves" start timing them and see what happens Good luck hun

I don't see much rest happening... it's so uncomfortable... not sure weather sitting or laying down is more comfortable... it's not turning into anything yet... no real pattern or anything... and the constipation pressure is hanging around for quiet a bit before disappearing... or maybe not always lol cause that one only lasted a minute... I wish I had a light like the oven that just turned off when all ready, would totally take away the guess work in pregnancy.

I couldnt sleep through it either but tried to stay in bed as it started at midnight. I found lying on my left side with a heat pack on my lower back helped and rocking through the discomfort.

Rest as much as you can. I found it was the exhaustion the worst part of birth. And if they're irregular, it might be awhile. Do you know what position bub is in. I've heard with posterior bubs that ctx are more irregular. Mine was breech. Though it was slow to ramp up, they were regular from the start.

It may still be promodal labour. I've heard with some women they get it for days or weeks.

    Are you timing?

No not timing yet, still at the trying to ignore them stage lol laying down seems to increase the length of time they hang around. Back ache is now constant and not pleasant, in some way it seems to be hiding the tightens unless I'm thinking about it. Babys spine is against my spine (3rd baby to like this position; such a rascal)

Try & make sure you sit with your knees lower then your hips & don't slouch back on the couch, slouching back encourages posterior babies. Also try & get down on your hands & knees & scrub your skirting boards or something while your down there LOL. Might help bubby get better positioned. Laboring posterior babies suck!

eta - if you don't mind me asking.. Whats your plan c/section for? Will you go in if things ramp up or just go naturally?

Slouching on the couch today was not comfortable at all, and unfortunately it has been my favourite position this pregnancy. But I have been sitting on the edge of the couch all morning but my knees are "slightly" higher than my hips so will push my feet forward.

My planned c-section is for a number of reasons
1st Pregnancy - Failure to progress with induction, large baby and wrong shaped birth canal (they didn't mix) he never went below station -2, ended in distressed baby, raised temp so off for an emergency c-section

2nd Pregnancy - Planned c-section due to birth canal, another large baby... waters broke so had emergency c-section, then got Necrotizing Faciitis (Flesh Eating Bacteria) in my c-section wound resulting in ALOT of scar tissue, a few more operations and 2+ months for the wound to close.

3rd Pregnancy - Planned c-section due to the issues in last c-section, the unknown of the scar tissue and how it would react to labour. Started thinking of a VBAC about three weeks ago but since have had alot of pain in scar and due to the increased risk in infection (low immune system since infection) I'm following hospital advice (both hospital I had DS2 in & this pregnancy)

So once / if I get into established labour at all I will head in and they will do c-section, only issue being that having back contractions on my shaped body (obese) doesn't seem to show on CTG very well... haven't last last two labours anyway

Ahh ok. Well make sure you keep the hospital up to date with whats going on.

I so hear you on the slouching though. my Second was born posterior & it wasn't till after that someone said its sitting like that which encourages it. But DS use to sit so high with so much pressure on my sternum it was the only comfortable way to sit. I try & make sure I don't sit that way as much as possible but its so comfy LOL

Do you have a fitball? Sitting on that and leaning onto the back of a chair may help. The rocking helps too. I found slow, deep breathing and rocking in rhythm helped a lot.

Here's one I read on spinning babies - get up on the couch on your hands and kness. Slowly and carefully lower you hands to the floor and lean on your forearms. This moves baby up towards your sternum and encourages them to rotate to anterior. You may need help getting out of this position. I slowly slid my knees down to the floor. Putting cushions on the floor to land on first helps

Do you have someone who can give you counter pressure on your back?

Nope no fit ball and home alone at moment. Pains seem further apart at the moment but more noticeable. I now believe it's just Braxton Hicks playing mind games with me.

You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for baring with my stupid questions.

I've had this the last 24 hours I'm putting it down to pressure of the babies for me. I too have one posterior and the others breech, cheeky little monkeys already!
